  3. we dodged the last of some fires on the nullarbor.. then hit Pemberton, Nannup, Manjimup Marg River etc... and basically ran where we could. had one of our guides parked up for a couple of days smack in the middle of a couple fires. lucky no crew on board just him. had food and a sat phone.. was happy to stay at the banks of the river he was camping at. asked me if i was joining him for the night.. he wasnt even aware of how bad the fires or how close they were to him.. made it out all safe though. but many of our prospective camp sites around that area were burnt out. was some awe insp

  9. just picked up a Canon EOS 550D as i have become quite unhappy with the picture quality from my olympus 8010 of late. The olympus has provided great under water shots while im touring and does take some great pictures on land. but ive found myself deleting so many more pictures after each trip now. so bit the bullet and bought a DSLR! now will come the frustration.. or joy.... of learning to use it!please chuck up any hints and tips you guys have got!Canon EOS 550D with a 18-55mm lense is my starter point..bought from http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/digital-slr-cameras.html on their c
  10. see them all the time.. and love it! the WEdgey is actually my bus mascot!!!fully grown can have a wing span up to 3m across!!! ive been lucky many times to come close to them while on tour. the crew love it! part of the problem with them getting hit is when they take off they often use the hot thermals from the road to provide lift.. hence they fly down the road a bit or across it on initial take off.
  11. smaller the lure the faster movement is how ive found it in blades. they are long and thin.. so offer little surface area to get vibrations going. also with TT def use the rear hole it will allow the lure to have a more vertical presence and create more cavatation/vibration through the water..
  12. pulled a knife. or had a knife with him to cut up bait etc. and they have seized on this part of the story to embellish it
