  5. love my vac sealer!i will be selling between 4 and 6 x6m rolls of vacuum bags soon.. 10$ a roll.. if anyones keen. i too hated freezing fish for periods of time. now get a safe 6-9months instead of 3 months!and great for freezing bait no smells!!!!
  6. Got a Gurnard when out Prawn trawlin many moons ago.. " Happy moments" nasty lil fekers. watched my brother get a saltwater catfish in the hand.. screamed for nearly 8 hrs.. My mother took a redback in the hand for me.. as a kid i was playing with it. she pushed me out of the way and it bit her.

popularity wise.. of course some shinny new diamond encrusted 5000000ballbearing spinning real with a million$$ of advertisement behind it will outsell the good old fashioned hand winch that the alvey is Alveys key points are its suitability to robust fishing styles such as beach and rocks. as for its its casting ability, really is amazing in comparison to my spinning reals. My thoughts about your casting abilities with an alvey... you need some work if you cant out cast an overhead/spinning real with a suitably set up alvey and its matched rod.Alveys dont have the gloss of a modern

Ausea i got a good laugh from your posts.. i know many a man who fishes day in day out with a alvey bait fishing all day long.. my step father was my influence in fishing. hence my love of alveys to this day. he still uses a 450/500 series alvey for all forms of table fishing from whiting on running rigs to garfish on pencil floats and even fishing completely unweighted he can cast further than many people using floats.as for lure casting, yes they arnt geared up like a modern day spin reel to make it easier. but i have still been lure fishing for salmon for hours with those around me casting
  9. ive got a barra model 5-10kg.. when we catch up i can bring it along for a looksy its my yak based heavy rod

  11. they can anchor it elsewhere.. not always at the wharf.. no dramas there... its not allowed to fish. but it can translocate if needed
  12. keep in mind.. live bait has to be legal size... ;)thats a hell of a bluey to stick on a hook!
  13. AF.. i grew up in Kellidie.. hit me a PM if you want.. my parents still live on the beach.. ;)tis my dream retirement place.. hopefully my family will still own the shack/house down there. As Softy would agree... we have spent many a week down there.. but never enough time to really do it justice. my best Gummy shark is off that beach.. my brothers best snapper 28lb is also off the beach.. with king fish and snapper schools frequenting the area.. it can be a great place to be
