  1. hey SG nice! have thought about the same set up for my tub but stopped short because i run 3 with two on board but mostly only two on board, like to think the 3 very close together actually work well due to the amount of doubles and triple we get, will admit to running a small home made teaser last trip...... make any diff? dunno coz we found our fish visually and hit none blind, but would i go without again ? no. lol meh who knows? lol not keen on that particular beer but love the good luck charm! my deckie had a banana in the bag i found out on the way home last trip! hmmmm myth dispelled?
  2. many and varied, blew a car up on a last minute victor trip many years ago leaving in on the side of the road to come back to it vandalised the next day. losing a 400 dollar outfit over the side to a shitty bronzy on opening day of snapper season a couple years back :/ leave a rod in the holder on a 100 meter quick move when squidding years back to turn around and its dropped out the holder... bahaha how many do you want??? but hey the victory's are sweet to, fluffed a gaff shot on a 10 kg plus snapper a while back with a blunt gaff, pop the line red flounders just long enough for anoth
  3. http://www.strikehook.com/index.php/topic/25592-sh-caps-and-beanies-reduced/ Hate and Beanies, mmm Beanie. bugger its cold

  6. too much craziness for me but good stuff all the same. good luck guys, lets see a strike hooker bring it home!!!
  7. so who's heading down to fish the coast 2 coast tuna comp on the weekend??? looks like they've nailed the weather.
  8. we've been lucky and scored fish each trip and lost 1 we reckon would have give 35kg a nudge, had 1 really big day weather wise that was a bit crazy with the swell over 3m and the chop over 1m but generally have been lucky with the weather, we have had fish on the blind troll from bust ups and from as little as 1 or 2 birds but ya gota be watching all the time, its amazing what little hings will give up there location.
  9. nice looking fish in the second pic man, what was your biggest last season? ours was only 15-16kg as opposed to 23 ish the year before and lost bigger. so skittish last season we found, too many clowns running all over them with no idea!!!! hopfully those guys did their dough and patience last year and stay away this year because all they did was make it hard for the rest of us! pm me if ya keen as im hot to get onto them early and am keen to share results and areas with like minded anglers.
  10. spent the last 6 days at Edithburgh, fished 5 of 6, bloody dodge tide. anyways scored three boat limits if kgs up too 47 cm and around 50 squid, a few salmon and big winter gar and various rays/skate and doggies as well as being cleaned up big time by a few shaks in shallow (school/gummies?) on light gear. good weather crap tides.
  11. very impressive vid,lol im fairly good with the knife but this guys a pro obviously! couple things strike me that I use, cold fish!!! (read iced or fridged overnight) very sharp knife great blade(and kept sharp!) skinning and pin boning!! do it!!! skinning rocks when you figure it out and take the little pin bone V out above the ribs!!! awesome stuff...
  12. both photographed and released, never killed a ray, lol oh yeh and as for 24kg, if you cant land it on 1km or a bit more of 15 kg good luck ever landing it, always fished 15kg and test most of the time.
  13. old school metro smootie and old school country black, great fun but damaging lol
  14. from experience, club it on the scone first or buy a cheep flyer (got a good 1 from ray and anns) even my 6ft hammer made a mess of the side of my boat after being pinned with a flyer, near on 6ft schoolie a few year back I hit with a fixed snapper gaff nearly ripped me arms off but managed to hoist him in, gota think seriously about anything over about 4- 5 ft coming into a boat with or without teeth!!!
  15. complete dounut on the snapper opening but did what we set out to achieve by getting a couple of Bluefin in the boat well before most and the three trips we made in good conditions all produced fish a bit down on last years size and more and more sketchy and flighty each trip due to the amount of boats and fishers with absolutely no idea. smashed the gar and kgs at the burg in the week of January and had some great crab sessions at semi and saints. pb hammer as seen on these pages as well made it a summer to remember and to top it of I took my mate and my 51/2 yo out for his first crack at a
