scored myself a penn reel but i not sure of what year it is looks old and has a few chunks out of it,, still run very smooth ,,theres no id on it accept its a penn international 50 single speed have tried to google but no luck so im figuring its very old,,, any info would be helpful,,, and there was this thing with two hooks on it any info whats its for would help as well im figuring its some thing to do with hooking up to a harness of some sort?? thanks in advance cheers freddyboy

shopping around pays of,, i got some excellent braid of ebay called dyneema ocean braid green in color 1000m of 75lb or 33kg from tasmaina tackle store for $80 this will last me a long time befor i have to buy any more ,,, caught kings with it so its very strong stuff,, i shop around for bargains ,,cheers freddyboy

got this from ebay for a few dollars ,,looks like woolen glove but its actually s/steel very handy even for filliting fish ,,,cheers freddyboy

my ice box has measurments on it home made... or a simple tape measure in the boat or tackle box is a good solution as well cheers freddyboy

or you can get a bucket with lid and drill holes in it and toss it over the side or a drop net which i got out of cheap as chips for $1,,,i prefer the bucket because if you get a strong tide flow it wont hurt the squid as the net will ,,, cheers freddyboy

depends on what fish you want to use it on ,, if it was larg fish kings sharks rays etc i wouldent use one ,,,on smaller fish its ok snapper etc ,,just my opinion cheers freddyboy

yeah thanks mate im still havent decided what ill spool it with yet im considering any thing from 80 to 100lb but not sure yet,,, at the moment it has 300lb mono on it about 150 meters of it but that wont stay on it i just wanted to see how much i could get on ;D ;D ,,, the place i got it from was in the usa called americanoutdoors there on the net easy to find,,, as for the price yeah when you find the site the prices are there :icon_eek: :icon_eek: ,, only problem i have now is to find a suitable rod to match it they dont send rod over from overseas so i guess ebay is my best bet ;D ,, ch

yeah they can grow quite big tonyb ,,, im in whyalla and we have them breeding here all winter and when there mating they are easy to catch at times we have to use snapper gear to reel them in ;D ;D and i have seen them bigger here but never bothered to take a pic,,, one thing for sure they butt ugly things ;D ;D but an excellent snapper bait ;) ,,, cheers freddyboy
