    new reel

Glad to see that you got a reel, the Ci4 is a really nice reel, they are as smooth as, they are so light and they look amazing.
  2. Softy if you want really good braid get some of the Finns braid, I use it and have never had a problem with it.
  3. I would say that a 4500 is way too big for bream mate. But the Stradic that I mentioned comes with two spools so you could always spool one with 4Ib braid for Bream and the other with 10Ib Sunline braid for Mullies and Salmon.
  4. Well if you are looking at chasing bream and also using lures, I would recomend something like a Shimano Stradic 2500 size reel another very good and reliable reel is a Shimano Symetre. I would then match this up with a 2-4 kilo rod, Pfleuger makes my favorite rods. The best Pfleuger rod for its price is a Trion by a mile, but if you want to fork out the extra cash you could go for a Pfleuger Asaro rod these are really good rods. The other rods that I have found to be excellent rods and a good price would be the Shimano Catana or the Shimano Starlo Sticks rods. Then you will need line, If you
  5. G'day mate are you looking at something to lure fish or to bait fish? And also are you looking to chase mainly bream or are you going after other species?
  6. Howdy Guys,I am in need of a bit of help here. Lip Grippers, I was wondering are they safe to use on fish or do they do more harm than good to a fish? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Don't have time for releasing! that's a pathetic excuse all you have to do is put them in the water.
  8. Yeah ive got to agree with you what's the point of busting people taking undersized fish if they are only going to feed them to the pelicans anyway.....wheres the logic in that?

    new reel

Whenever choosing a new reel, It all comes down to what the buyer is most comfortable with using and also their price range.

Ive got a link here to the Quantum site here if you want to have a look at them. But as Matt said it's good to go into a tackle shop and have a look around. http://www.quantumfishing.com/default.aspx

    new reel

The other brand of reel to have a look at is the quantum range of reels. They have six layers of anti corrosion paint, ceramic drag that wont heat up under a big fish and they have stainless steel bearings. Also the bail arm is made out of a flexible wire so it doesnt break. They are a bit cheaper but my mate has one and he reckons they are as tough as nails and always reliable.
  12. Is that sinking flyline or clear floating? It certainly would blend in the port, Same colour too.
  13. Thanks for the link Archerfish i will check it out.

    new reel

If youre getting a yak definately go the Shimano because you are very close to the water and you will get spray from the water so a reel that has all anti-corossion resistant bearings is probably your best choice. But either way really look after your reel and you will have it for a long time.

    new reel

Actually i forgot to ask are you fishing, Land based, kayak or boat?Land based or boat i would go a Diawa but if you are in a yak i would definately go for a Shimano reel because Shimano reels have anti corrosion resistant bearings in all of their reels whereas most Diawas don't. Either way I would still clean your reels after every trip.If you are after a nice Diawa reel tho i would reccomend forking out the extra cash for a Sol. there is also the Diawa Exceller which I haven't used myself but I do know people that do use them and really like them. In the end tho it all comes down to preferen

    new reel

G'day Grego,If you ask me you cant go better than a decent Shimano spinning reel. I would reccomend a Shimano Symytre or a Stradic. These are both excellent reels and are well worth the money. I would suggest going to your local tackle store and have a look to see what you are most comfortable with.
  17. Very nice Jagger. Bet you cant wait to test the reel and those flies out. Like the look of the nautilus reels.
  18. What a bunch of scumbags, what makes them think they have the right to break into someones car and steal there posessions? Absolutely discraceful.
  19. That trip looks awesome and it looks like a really beutiful place to go. Good hob on christening your new reel too. Those longtoms are great fun on light line aswel but they seem to throw the hooks like its nothing. Good work.
  20. That's a cracking shark, but i'm certainly not impressed with them killing it, i would have released it. I just hope that none of it goes to waste.
  21. I would use one of those tackle boxes that have the removable slides so that you can make the compartments larger.
  22. That looks like an awesome rod. How did you get the grips and the guides like that?
  23. That's good to heare that they are great Statesquider, I will be getting mine very soon. They are one of the lightest reels that i have handled for that size. Cant wait for mine.
  24. Have you still got the instruction guide that came with the reel? If so have a look through that.
