They'll be ok, but get some size 8 at some stage - most use 8's. Yeah xmas/NY ok, but the getting a few fish ain't working too well lol
-
Yep it's the way to go. Even add a couple more split rings to give more swing with the hooks. You can put assist hooks on the belly which of course provides another chance of a hook up, but most don't. Size 8 assist hooks. Good luck on Sunday.

Was indeed a good session for you. Good water, lots of trout and looked a lovely day in the background with nice green pastures - what else could you ask for

Good clear video I fillet my fish similar to that. With Gar, I can butterfly them pretty well -- but with other fish I find it difficult. So I'd be up to seeing a video on butterflying Thanks again for putting up.

wow, you wouldn't want to get a snag or get it scratched along some rocks.

Good pic up from those shots SurfcaztR Now that is too far to cast!

My money is on not being completed on time

Different type of lure for sure - obviously can get results

Enjoyed the video Adrian and looks like your friend would have enjoyed too

Easy as Piss - but that is me on the jetty towards the end ... typical

Could Monofilament Be Superior To Fluorocarbon Fishing Line?
doobie replied to SurfcaztR's topic in Bait & Tackle
The old debate comes up all the time - in the 'old' days it was jus mono through and through and we still caught enough fish. Now-a-days, yes fluorocarbon comes into the equation - I use FC as a leader on most rigs for jetty/rock fishing - weather it makes a real difference, I have no idea lol and I really don't care. I'm not a fishing enthusiast -
I was hoping for a little bit more considering the title

It is a great area to visit and explore. Pity the conditions weren't the best for fishing opportunities but 2 Barra's is still pleasing.
-
Not sure yet. Session only opened yesterday, so maybe watch for posts on FB - I'm sure there will be some soon
-
I use Berley FC 8lb and don't have any issues. You could try soaking the Shimano spool ( or cut off bits) in some warm water to take out the 'memory' - works for mono at least.

Chair not level - problem solved

If it works then a good solution - me, I take spray as I never see an empty can lying around or any tea tree bark -

I'm sure you go to sleep every single night thinking of a 'How can I can fix that or improve that'. Never a dull moment in your head -
Always good to start the season of with a few trout. A couple of rainbows over the 1/2 kg mark is also a nice start. (hope your back is going ok too)
-
And that's the unfortunate thing about it. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and they put in place some kind of warning - fingers crossed.

I remember that in one of your reports - certainly an adventurous and nerve racking crossover
-
The water looks to be running quite well - whether that is good or bad The weather seems to be against at the moment and sounds cold with all that snow
-
At least there is a start

That's a good percentage catch Adrian Geez, talk about dramas Besides being cold I'm sure and wet, I'd be worried about the camera as well. But 'pure arse' was on your side
