1. This is a great comp' date=' but easy to forget imo...instead of having to nominate it here' date=' there should be an icon that you activate when creating a thread that comes up something like the poll setup .The way its set up , dont know about anyone else , but until this most recent post came up I"d totally forgoten about it.[/quote'']That's why I added a reminder at the top of the forum Index and Recent Topics ;)The developers of the forum software aren't going to drop everything and whip up some code for our individual forum among millions of others so there's won't be a vote for this post button any time soon. When the final fishing reports are chosen for the comp a poll will be added to gauge an accurate vote.
It's right here :cSooooo, we nominate threads and then they get voted on via the poll. It's not rocket surgery.
2. For me' date=' a good report needs to be structured, with actual punctuation rather than one long paragraph/sentence. It has to have at least one picture. It has to share some information, and it has to be an entertaining read.I dunno if staff can nominate threads or not (I should've asked), but here's a couple I've read recently which I think worthy of consideration.....maybe members could choose to nominate if they consider them as good as I did:This first one blew me away! Agree on all counts.
3. my missus bought over a heap of Louisiana Crawfish' date=' Shrimp and Crab Boil so i just sprinkle that over the whole affair and steam for about 12 minutes.[/quote']I've heard about this crab boil.Do ya know what herbs it's made up of' date=' or are they listed on the packet so's we can mix our own?[/quote']Ok, ingredients listed go like this Ranger-Salt, spices, dextrose, paprika, onion, garlic, natural flavours,mono-sodium glutamate, natural lemon oil flavour, citric acid.If i was gambling man i'd bet there was cayenne pepper in there too.http://www.louisianafishfry.com/reviews.php?action=submit&id=33I freaked out when i was over there Ranger and they had blue swimmer crabs, i never knew. One guy was telling me that they nearly were wiped out from over fishing by the pro crabbers and had just started to make a comeback.
4. Never had an issue myself or read of one in here but it would pay to be switched on. I launched about 2-30 am thurs, was the only car parked at WB and when i was at the rigging bays a white tray top ute rocked up, could've been one of the workers of the job going on there, i didn't know but i was not leaving the boat alone till the ute left.Ohh yeah, buy a trailer coupling lock too.
