  1. If you use the reel with lures I would recommend braid in a bright yellow/orange colour so that you can see the line easier. You can go for a more natural tone if you feel that it is important but you tend to have a flurocarbon leader anyway so colour probably isn't too much of an issue.
  2. Quality drawing there sambo.
  3. Nice video there guys. Now that is getting sport out of the fish!
  4. Pretty good survey there. Some interesting questions as well.
  5. Great fish buster. Love to get an 8wt myself and give saltwater flyfishing a go.
  6. 50! Fairly good night out. Yeah might be still a bit too early for consistent bluey catches yet.
  7. Has anyone had any success on blue crabs off metro jetties yet? I know they are getting a few at Semaphore but apart from that I don't really know anything else about areas that are good at the moment.
  8. Thanks guys. I have bookmarked all of those sites. (They look pretty useful).

    New Toy

Those kingies won't stand a chance against that
  10. Hi guys,Have recently been researching the effects that barometric pressure has on a fish's feeding habits. After searching around online I couldn't find an online barometer. Just wondering whether anyone else has found one or something similar that will give me accurate readings. Thanks.
  11. Thankyou for all of the feedback guys. At the moment I am probably leaning towards the stradic ci4 2500.
  12. Could the bottle in the background be the reason for your decision to jump into the Torrens?
  13. Yep. Another egi topic. (Sorry in advance). Just purchased a shimano sephia (8ft 3') and looking to further my eging ability. I'm just interested in finding out what makes a good egi reel. Any suggestions will be taken on board. Thanks.

    bali

Trip to bali still sounds nice tho
  15. The shimano siennna reel retails for about $40. I use it for squid and think it's great value.
  16. Great work jimbo and congrats to ur nephew.
  17. Thanks for the link. That sounds like a fair hike swim.
  18. Thanks brenton. Interesting about the burley pot technique. You make a lot of sense.
  19. Yeah I agree. Maybe in terms of HBs try some SX40s. (One with a natural colour, and one with a brighter more unnatural colour). These are more expensive than most lures but outperform them as well. After all, there is no use in owning lures that are cheap and nasty; you just won't use them.In terms of SPs, I would invest in some Squidgy Wrigglers, Fish or Critters so that you can cover all bases as well as a range of differently weighted jigheads. SPs are not as expensive as HBs so you can probably afford to buy a few packs.
  20. Thanks guys. So in terms of gear, do I need maybe 6-8kg rod with a 4000/6000 size reel?
  21. Okay. Yeah hopefully that seal doesn't cause much trouble. Love to land a little flatty there jewiehunter. Thanks guys.
  22. Looks great. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a bit of that gear. Although, I reckon that stuff would be pretty damn expensive.
