  1. I make a point of cleaning up where I am fishing, regardless of who's rubbish it is. I spent an hour or so last time I was on the OH breakwall cutting line and old crab net rope from around the rocks... Tons of the stuff. Even found a rusted out old crab net wedged in the rocks.
  2. Had to remove some stuff from this thread. Keep it clean.
  3. Sit at home and practice all three knots a heap of times. You will find that your ability to tie a solid knot will improve dramatically very quickly. The Albright is my personal favorite as it is exceedingly simple to tie. Also, these knots have different uses depending on circumstances. For example, the Albright knot is good for joining lines which are very different in diameter whereas the Uni knot is better for lines that are similar in diameter. Lastly, it's important not to overload your leader. No matter how strong your knot, if you're casting lures which are too heavy for the leader/brai
  4. I know it's probably wishful thinking but I'd love to see a Strike & Hook hoody. I'd buy that in a second.
  5. I believe the bends in the river are usually pretty good. Also if you can spot any structure in the water that's usually a good spot for Bream as they tend to hide in fallen logs/overhangs/rocks etc. Generally you need to flick your plastic right in tight to the structure. Others who fish the Onk more often will have heaps better info than me though.
  6. I think she can be forgiven... just this once. Awesome video Jack.
  7. Didn't someone say that the school that was there the day before was even bigger and that's why the brought the camera on that day? That's what I heard in any case.
  8. Fishing sand flats and shallow weed beds with soft plastics, up to my waist in water on a stinking hot day, chasing that ever elusive 70+ cm Flathead.Unfortunately not as much of that type of fishing around Adelaide Metro as I'd like.
  9. a battery operated aerator will last for ages. I picked one up recently for $19. As Softy said, change the water every hour or so. It also depends what you're using for bait. Salmon, Trumpeter, Macks and Tommies are all reasonably hardy and will survive a long time. Mullet, Gar, Whiting (all legal sized of course) will take a bit more effort to keep alive.
  10. Awesome work Jimbo. crackin' fish and a much better option than spending the day on a hot roof!
  11. Funniest thing I've read in ages. Well written! I copped the same thing after forgetting about a bunch of squid in my bait bucket for a week.
  12. I'll leave the catching fish part up to you ugly! Ha! Got have have a day off to catch fish and then when the stars finally do align it's usually or
  13. Great tutorial Shims. :clap:When you nail that 80cm Flathead on it there had better be a report!
  14. I was never much into crabs off the jetties, but you do get Sandy's in the shallows on the Town Jetty.
  15. At the very least, head down to the Town Jetty just as the sun is going down (or coming up) and the sky is going orange. Fish right next to the fish measuring station on the right hand side of the jetty. Start with a 3.5/3.0 size squid jag in either bright green/pink or blue and if they're not touching it drop to a 2.5 in the same colours. It's reasonably shallow there, even at high tide so make sure you use a decent leader so you can get your jags out of the weed if they get stuck! Good luck mate. Looking forward to your report.
  16. No worries. I fished Lincoln landbased for my whole childhood and I am more than happy to help out any fellow anglers with any info I can on the town and it's surroundings. It's a truly great place for anyone who doesn't have a boat and the sheer amount of different species on offer is awesome.
  17. Also, the slipway has been locked for years now. No fishing there anymore which sucks because it was an absolutely top spot. :(However, just down the road is Snooks Landing where I caught my PB KGW at 63cm many years ago.The top jetty in this pic is the Caravan Park which I believe is still available to be fished:
