  1. Plenty of sharks off the jetty...... Oh, I did not!
  2. Bronzie. Good to see Grange again. Been a while since I last paid that jetty a visit.
  3. poor creatures... release them! feed them to the pelicans! don't kill... lol...
  4. Taking a scientist out... I suppose if whale research works this works as well. They have to close this loophole...
  5. Did it start with something about the footy?
  6. You get more weird people around nowadays because government handouts have gone out of control and unpoliced well enough. Too many abusers of a system meant to assist the ones in need and too many people thinking they are owed the world. The government policy to force population increase hasn't helped either. There will always be a small percentage of bad eggs in any community but this small percentage becomes a large number with more people. Simple math. I have a high level of tolerance and I try to enjoy my rare fishing moments whenever I can. That's all you can really do, eh? At least you g

  8. You definitely need a license to fish there. Just go onto the website for Victoria's fisheries and you'll be able to purchase a license online.
  9. Haha... ok... I'll just pay for the braid then. Thought the positive reviews about viros was to convince me to get the spinfisher. Live Liner will definitely be better.
  10. Well, you guys have convinced me to get a spinfisher. Spinfisher it is. Thanks, guys.
  11. Glad you posted this thread. I was looking at the spinfisher myself for beach fishing on Ray & Annes. It seems like the Penn reels are being cleared. I am really tempted to get a liveliner but the free braid (despite it being a rovex) is pulling me closer to the spinfisher instead. Ugly stik will most probably be the go to rod for meself too. Heard and read many good reviews on this rod and according to a regular WA fisho, the Penns are an absolute bargain at the moment.
  12. Interesting study on the fish but I wish their brain wouldn't allow them to be spooked by my lures. HAHA! The more I c&r a spot, the less fish I get...
  13. Nothing more than an attention grabber. This is what you do when you're in dire need of money where your work has resulted in consistent failure. You publish articles like these which would create controversy and regain the fame that you've lost. I respect most bloggers, news writers, etc. but not those who purposely create an uproar just to save their fledgling career. Harsh words but just as harsh as someone who would liken fishos to people who touch kids... It seems that this writer's brain has now smaller than a bird's having not eaten meat for so long. That bit irks me so much especially
  14. Why are these people getting paid and where does the money come from? Better not come from the taxes...
  15. Hmm.... I thought knives are allowed into Aus. I know weapons aren't but cooking utensils shouldn't be an issue if you have them in your check-in luggage. I'm more familiar with food though.
  16. Merry Christmas to you too and many happy days fishing.
  17. Not to mention the countless pictures of snappers UHF has stuck to his wall. And of course, the time he spends admiring the framed picture of his trophy snapper while at work.
  18. Those berkley nanofils any good? Do you still need leaders for them?
  19. Just thought I'd point something out which bears a lot of similarity to this.In the case of cockling, if you go in a group, usually someone stays back to count the cockles, check the size or even just go there to enjoy the beach. There's always an inactive participant. ie. they do not go out there to dig for the cockles. However, the bag limit for the cockles here applies to the number of people you have in your big group, not the people who are out there digging for cockles. Now if you agree with this cockling bag limit, you shouldn't have any issues with this squidding scenario with Jewie bec
  20. Never knew that you needed 3 people on a boat otherwise the bag limit per person applies. Always thought if you went out on a boat that the boat limit automatically applies seeing that you pay for the licence and also for the fuel just to be out there. Hmm... Regardless, didn't think this was an issue because I assumed jewie was on a boat from his catch. No one's gonna brag about catching over their bag limit in a public forum.
  21. I actually have one of those. Tried to use it for carp fishing but failed miserably. LOL! Novelty item. No other use apart from being for display.
  22. I don't have a cockle bag but you can get these nets from kmart for around $6. They're meant to be used to keep your fish in but they worked really well as cockle bags for me.
  23. Thanks, spotter. I did see the spare spool printed on the ad. That attracted my attention the most.
