  4. Know nuth'n of the lure, but LOVE the Guernsey!
  5. Should have just let it burn mate, be even funnier than the keystone cops escapade you witnessed I'm sure. Mighta even got a new jetty out of it.:woohoo: Although, then again maybe not

  7. Also considering a new Penn Pinpoint Tournament PPT 610 SPX, yes different line class, but am not a big fan of the wind up foregrip. Again though discussion on this welcome also.
  8. Am on the prowl for another spin stick, budget is tight otherwise I'd just buy another live fibre blade n tails so looking around the second hand market.Pretty sure I know where this is gonna end up, but wondered if there are any users out there who can help me with what each is like or even compare the two. Both rods are 1-3kg models & will probably be used for throwing lightly weighted soft plastics with either a 1500 size exceller or capricorn
  9. Sorry MJ, but I have to pull you up here.Another wasted trip WHAT, time on the water a wasted trip? Anytime on the water is good time I say :woohoo:
  10. Ok dumb question, well it will be for some of you.I hear / read a lot about flats, HB, Softies rods when talking about bream sticks. Can someone explain to me the characteristics of each and specify for me how each is ideal for its specified use.
  11. Spot On Stores should have it.I know the one in Salisbury does
  12. I'll stand corrected if need be, but......It's my understanding that the skipper of any boat is responsible for ANY damage the wake of their vessel does. THEREFORE, I would firstly be advising the fools of this fact in the first place, then I'd be taking down the details of the vessel & making a call to Marine Safety Officers with all the details Sometimes a hit to the hip pocket wakes em up, especially if its daddies toy that did the damage!
  13. Put reel in free spool, its the silver leaver on the LHS of the picture, it'll be on the right hand side when in use. Engage the ratchet/clicker/strike alarm, not shown in picture, but probably on the side plate opposite the handle side. This is how I set up my reels if they are not being held.Otherwise use Brentons suggestion, where reel is left in gear & the drag is loosened sufficently to have line removed freely, but with enough tension to prevent an over run. I wouldnt reccommend this method from any other rod holding device other than one that holds the rod securely & preferably
  14. $20.00 a kilo for Cockles anyone?Hard to believe we would just throw them away at the end of a days fishing huh?
  15. Short answer is yes you can, but a not familiar with the set up on the rods in question. Is the reel seat a through blank type or the older Fuji bayonet? Probably doesnt matter really, as each should be able to be extended the extra distance you require either with a suitable peice of blank off cut or aluminium. But probably the easiest way would be to have a peice of timber turned that is the extra 40mm you seek, the same diameter as the rear grip plus a little extra so that it will slot into the base of the blank. The extra being a diamater suitable to being slid up the inside of the blank &a
  16. WOW :woohoo: Cracking fish there Snapp's. What a way to christen the new reel, which by the way looks nice, but I have to say for the dollars I'm surprised you didnt stick with a daiwa Or is it a case of the Pfluger punching above its weight for a similar priced daiwa.Again, way to go champ
  17. Not sure I believe this. After two years floating around in the sea, that is all the barnicles on the rod, and there was very little corrosion on the reel.Either they are extreemly corrossion resistant or its fiction.

  19. Dave, whilst it may seem so, I can asure you that the marinas secrets are not that easily revealed. The pontoons are not the fish havens you would otherwise have expected. Believe me I have tried from both LB & boat based postions. Yes there are some cracking fish to be had from there, but a lot of time, effort & luck goes into getting them.As for launching, the boat ramp would be the most likely place.
  20. Certainly no expert, but isnt that why we used to have two fortnightly closures instead of the current system where we have one 4 weekly one.It was always my understanding, that there were two schools of thought as to when the fish spawned and the two separate closures were to address the concerns / beliefs of both camps I guess.

Me, I tipped the Cats by 13 also in the tips, and 14 to Ash on account of him already tipping 13, now if only I had gone the other way Again congratulations to the winners & to BIGASH for making the comp possible
  24. Spot On Snapps (no pun intended)Perhaps instead of complaining about the mention of other stockists / suppliers & stores, they could use this forum & the thoughts of some of it members to ask "What are they doing that we arent?"Like most things, there is good & bad with everything. Have had some good experiences with site sponsors and also some bad ones. Would like to help support the sponsors with my patronage where possible, but find it hard to so when promises arent delivered or are misrepresented.
