  1. I own 6 shimano rods, 1 daiwa rod, 2 ugly stiks, 2 old school Jarvis walker graphites, 1 Wilson, 2 penn and a lone ABU. My reels consist of 2 penn, 5 Okuma, 2 daiwa, 7 shimano. Have only just cottoned on to the daiwas myself, but am liking. Still, the lifetime warranty of the Okuma is hard to beatHave just been given 2 exclusive Okuma rods to test out over the next few months. Think the daiwas will be going on them.
  2. A rod "blank" is the rod itself, asin the "stick" part without guides, grips etc.It can be hard to pick a reel if you can't put it on your rod. I don't buy one without trying it on the other.A "bait runner" has the ability to almost free spool your reel. It will let a fish run with your bait, then with a wind of the handle, it will go back to using its normal drag the same as a normal spin reel. Btw, general info, other may wish to elaborate. Btw2, I love baitrunners!Cheers
  3. There used to be a bloke who netted everything and anything at aldinga and pt willunga. About 6-7 years since he stopped, and the place has boomed ever since. He used to net upto 8 schools of salmon PER DAY!
  4. When I use a spoon, I use the rest to make spinners
  5. Cut the handle off a knife/fork/spoon, drill a hole either end, add a split ring to both ends and a hook to the heavier end. It's worked for me and others, and they don't rust if you use stainless!!!
  6. [/img]That is one on the left. I had him make me one in white, aswell as a few others.........
  7. Wonder where u can get a lure with massive action at a slow pace? Hmmmmm...................
  8. Any danger of you telling us yourself If I tell you, I'll have to kill you. Still have more experimentation to do jack, but looking good. Had A hookup on a mully after 7 casts at sunset in westies saturday night

  10. Here's a tip. Ask Weaver about what I'm experimenting with
  11. Hopefully our advice doesn't come back to bite us! Should be on a winner!
  12. I use a Berkley one red. Works good. Bout $25 from my local. Basically a plastic "net" inside a bucket. B61 knows it. Will hold maybe 7 trouties
  13. Live liner, viros and an ugly, can't go wrong mate!
  14. So maybe there's no kingfish, but it seems there's a few 'king'fishermen!
  15. The viros is good. I've had 50lb on my o/h surf and 30lb on my spin for nearly 3 years. I swear by it in the surf
  16. I have the live liner of that reel, haven't had anIssue. It's on an ugly stik 601 6-8kilo for the boat. A 10 ft MAY be too heavy for the reel, but you be the judge of how it feels when u have the outfit in your hand
