Been thinking it’s might be time to spend more time chasing natives on the Murray and ressies. Have not fished the fresh except some creeks since I was a kid
after picking the brains of a couple on members on here I decided I needed a new setup to chase natives
here it is with a few bits of candy

Amazing mate!!!

Thanks Banga, they look amazing, the quality looks exceptional

I really like that, thanks

Looking sweet mate, keep the pics coming they are feeding my lure addiction perfectly
-
FG knot for me using the Knott Assist 2.0 if I’m doing it at home
if I break a leader while wading (like last trip that cost me my favourite lure you can not buy any more) then I revert to the double uni
prefer the FG how it is smooth and does not catch on guides but too lazy to tie while out fishing

Looks amazing mate, great work!

Yes Doobs, your over complicating it. Haha
Each of the methods, as with the others outlined, will work - its just some work better than others depending on the species your targeting.
With YFW you can use swivels and clips / loop knots and still catch fish. But your strike rate will increase significantly if you ditch them, instead tying your braid directly to the leader and your leader directly to the tow point of the lure with a tight knot.
This is because it improves the presentation of the lure in the water.
Personally I run the below:
Braid > FG Knot > Mono Leader > Uni knot > tow point of lure.
I've run other options and settled on the above. I have also fished along others who run clips / swivels and the disparity between the success rates of each option is highly visible.
At the end of the day, choose an option that works for you.
I second this
yes clips work but I’ve always found direct tie to pure results in better strike rate
I also hate the little clips and I find them fidly and can tie quicker

Obviously none of you know how to finesse fish I would suggest you are working these crab imitations too fast. A slow drag along the bottom aa pause a very subtle hope and a slow drag again, I catch plenty of fish on these great crab lures, learn to fish a lure before criticising it.
Welcome to the forum barramundi, great first post on a topic from nearly 4 years ago
I still don’t rate the savage gear crabs, I have caught many bream and mullies in many different crab lures and plastic just don’t rate the savage gear crabs near many others, other savage lures are great

Don’t buy much these days
i have a collection of hardbodies from my bream days
a collection of poppers and stick baits I still use heavily for YFW and tend to only buy when I lose one or on a work trip to Lincoln where I always buy one when getting advise on what’s biting where
have loads of plastics but tend to only buy and use demand and gulp turtlebacks these days
would buy turtlebacks every time I go to Kmart (when they have them) or a tackleshop
Lol auto correct that was meant to say zmans not demand
