  1. Based on 92cm and (from what I can tell) condition of the fish I would say around the 8kg mark, maybe a bit more. The 90cm fish in my avatar went 8kg and was in good nick
  2. I know someone that had their trailer stolen a few years ago. As a result I always put my hitch lock on when parking the trailer, take the winch handle off, and put the club lock on the car. A gas axe will make short work of it, but why would they bother when there is one bigger and better a couple of meters away with no protection.Have also heard of a guy that has had his hitch unclipped off the ball and rested back there to give the impression it is still connected. Apparently it has happened to him a number of times..... the hitch lock also stops this. There are always all sorts of weirdos d
  3. Better yet, what program do you use to retrieve the exif data :silly:
  4. Gammy 6/0's for ruggers and 8/0's for bigger fish
  5. Bimini to improved albright. Haven't broken one yet. 40lb leader always breaks before the 30lb braid.
  6. I have a Daiwa Sol 2500 on a Sol 701MFS 8-14lb rod with 15lb Sensor braid. Very happy with that investment
  7. And the only difference between the 2500 and the 3000 is the rotor and spool. The body and internals are the same.
  8. Heard a story that there was a man in a grey suit hanging around the onka mouth the other day in the dirty water
  9. My favourite fishing moment was at West Beach boat ramp. I had been fishing for bream off the rocks and was walking back along the breakwater behind a another fisho and his very trim missus. Well, coordination wasn't one of her key attributes (of which there were many others) and she insisted on taking most of the journey across the rocks on all fours. Couple this with a very short summer dress and a very skimpy G-banger, it was definitely my best fishing moment
  10. Shallow at times for sure! I caught a 75cm fish in 12ft of water under a float
  11. Hey AFF, not sure on which lanes are priority at WB as I haven't launched there in a long while, but when launching/retrieving the retrieving boat always has right of way. This is due to the fact that there could be something wrong on the boat coming in. However, in this case the guy sounds like he was spoiled for choice if there were no other boats around. Once again not remembering the set up at WB, some boats are set up to launch and retrieve on one side (ropes, fenders, etc), and if he had the choice of a number of lanes in the same configuration he could have just enjoyed being difficult.
  12. I'm for the locked drag with 6/0 to 8/0 Gamakatsu's. Although I did have some good success off Wirrina the other weekend on snapper snatchers with circles.....

  14. Some great info there Fishie I was only just thinking about trying this the other day. I can feel a trip to the Fish Factory coming on!
  15. Good work mate! Your mentor is a top bloke
  16. It is good value for money. I have some on my whiting rod that has seen maybe four years service. It has been end to ended once, and I reckon is now reaching the end of it's life. Sure it gets fluffy and pale in colour, but it still works reasonably well. I run TD Sensor on my good outfits and have been very happy with that. But then again it is about 4 times the price :S . Have also found the Tuffline to be good too, but have only been using it for a few months (on my wifes rod).
  17. I would be more concerned about the damage done to innocent people's eyes having to watch these guys cruising aroung with their sluggoes pulled up their bum

    New Reel

Onka schoolies Nice piece of kit Damo. You must be getting paid too much lol
  19. Not sure about snapper, but you can get whiting in the sand holes off the ledges at low tide
  20. Nice king AC How deep do you allow the livie to run beneath the balloon?
  21. I have found the 3" Berkley Power Minnows in Pearl Watermelon work well, but generally they aren't very fussy and will take most lures.
  22. Some decent sized items there Crocka. Good to hear that they are around.
  23. 6lb sensor is what I have on mine ;)That reel looks way overfilled. When I first got mine I overfilled it (but nowhere near as much as that) and had air loop problems. Eventually one knotted and I had to cut off about 10m of braid. Problem fixed - Never done it since.
  24. Bloody oath mate :)Glad one of us cleaned up
