    Well , what can i say . We will start with , what an awesome time an i was very privileged to be invited along . As far as i know there was a fair few entries asking the boys Andrew and Nick from Hook Line and Sinker to come fishing with them and out of all those entries they answer Mully Madness , Shane "mulloway" Evans to go down Goolwa beach to have a crack at some beach Mully's . I was just lucky to have Shane ask me to come along and help out . The weather was not in our favour and despite this Andrew managed his first Mulloway . Wasn't the biggest going a rough 30cm but still a Mully . Damian who was also invited by Shane landed a Gummy shark as well , that was just over legal . They got some pizzas for dinner and a few beers to wash it down . These blokes were really chill and great to have a fish with . The episode should be aired April the 13th i think . Hope it turns out well ;

    Pumpy,Bit late in the conversation but there really is no such thing as fishing sunglasses. It is all just niche marketing. Any pair of polarised sunnies will do with a dark tint and that have a bit of wraparound to stop glare coming in from the sides.The only thing that arguably makes sunnies better on the water is having the lens made of glass. It is usually more scratch resistant when you get salt spray on them. Having said that glass is heavier and much more expensive, plus doensn't bend and they can shatter when dropped. I used to only buy Mako sunnies when I was spending a lot of time on the water but they got expensive. I now only use Maui Jim polarised and get good life out of them on the boat so they are fairly scratch resistant and light weight, but are still exxy for the cheaper ones at 150 - 200 $$.I'd be looking online in the US for somebody that ships here.

    In every way, what you are asking is what every fisho on here would love to know ;)Simply there is no best place to go and catch big fish (I assume landbased).Most fishos have their own idea of best places, and most are different :)Here is what you need to ask yourself;What fish do you want to catch?Do you want just a big fat ray?Do you want to catch a Snapper?A mulloway?A kingfish?Give yourself a goal. What about trying to get a nice big legal Bream?Once you know what you want to catch, google it, do a search on here create a thread.Failing that. If you catch a Tommie, stick a big hook through its shoulder and chuck it out live on your bigger rod.Keep on catching yer tommies and having fun..... And just hope and pray something big eats your live bait. Do this where ever you fish.... If you get a big hook.up come back and tell US where it happened :cheer: Welcome to the site by the way.

    Like yourself, I've fished the beaches, the jetties, the rocks, the wharves, and the boat.Since purchasing the kayak though, I'm getting more of a kick leaving the boat in the shed, the jetty rats to fight for their patch, the beaches to sandblast someone else, and the rocks to claim someone elses skin.Me, I'm serenely paddling around away from everyone else, in waters many boats cant access, and discovering a whole new world away from the hustle and bustle, away from the crowds, away from the other boats, away from the ramp rage....and not 5 minutes from the boat ramp, I can be in a whole new world that could be 100 miles from civilisation, in places not too many others even know about.I get so carried away, sometimes I just paddle around taking in the serenity, without even putting the line into the water.I can paddle and troll, I can drop the anchor, I can use the stealth approach to quietly mosey into potential spots, sight fish, or even raise the sail and kick back while the wind carries me along. I have outriggers for extra stability, livewell, rod racks, a rudder, and I still get to have both hands free to fish, as it's a pedal kayak.Big fish are no problem on light gear, coz the kayak itself gets towed around tiring the fish. Schools don't get spooked. Shallow water is no issue. No towing, no ramp fees, no registration and insurance, no servicing or maintenance, no carrying gear on long walks, no crowding, no screaming kids, it's bl**dy fantastic.The only real issue I have is peeing into a container while I'm sitting down.....I can live with that!I've been saying for two seasons now, that I intend taking the thing out to target the little bronzies. I still haven't gotten around to it, but when I do, they can tow me around to their little fishy hearts content, and I recon then I'm gonna be a totally satisfied camper with nearly all the boxes ticked, and not much more to achieve!

    The Catana/Solstace combo ain't bad, i have it in the 9ft with a 4000 reel... and it pings the bigger lures out a mile, dare say it would be a good little combo in the 1-3kg and fairly cheap from BCF or take a look at the Jewel combos.

    Gunna be frank. Not enough. I know to many people who have skimped and regreted it. Save for a few more weeks and get at least a $275 combo, and not regret the purchase afterwards. I have a $300 dollar combo (arenos 1000fa and T-curve 1-3kg and it is just suitable for those weight lures.) You have to keep braid in mind as well.

    I got a Berkley dropshot from BCF for $60 when they had this crazy sale going on (UNfortunately, it is $119 now) and paired it with a Shimano Aernos 1000.
