you can also use shimano drag grease to smear the stack with to make it smoother , if that is the problem. my 4/0 when i bought it the drag was like that . i pulled it appart n the dragsystem had nice green corrosion on it all the washers were stuck tgether. now it killa and smooth!

Ok thanks guys, i know about winding the braid on tight every now andthen , i keep that up.next session i am gonna use a swivel and try to get the twists out of the braid , b4 i try the double uni knot. the swivel doesnt help the wind knots but might help with the twisting.try again soon sometime this week i hope.

its funny no body said put a swivel on, and thats what i was about to do!

im using 5lb power pro braid, and i used an albright knot to tie on my flouro carbon, rang fish, the double uni knot isnt hard either to tie. but i dout its got anythig to do with the knot. the reel is a shimano siena roller rolls but not sure when im winding if it acctually spins , i am using a 1/8 jig head and 6lb flouro carbon.oh yea this never happend when i was using stren 8lb braid on the same reel.

Hi guys, recently i went out for a fish landbased , was using some light 5lb braid to try n trick a fish into taking my plastc.had no success and did manage to get a wind knot just as it got dark....grrrrr .......not one during daylight hrs anyway i got the knot out without cuting braid but i did notice that my braid was twisting, i figgured thats because i wasnt using a swivell.My question should i be using a swivell flicking plastics at bream or not? as ive been told that a swivell will scare timid warey bream.if i should not be using a swivell does it ruin the braid?what do you do

a draw aye in the casting department ...consitant good casters ! what material is the drag made of in ur alvey rocknev?if its anything like ht100s for penns ,u will slay the bike rider!!

yea mate they are nice n light too... will handle sharks up to 7 ft comfortably , and good for rays as wellwill slay mullies n salmon. i have 3 now ! and one 5120 as well.i use penn squiders on them ..and recently purchaced a 2 piece 4120 with a penn spinnfisher 4 a reel.

Yes Ranger , thats very sad.us land based fishos spend 1000s for 1 fish like that in a lifetimeif it happens, and they sell the fish for 2bucks a kg to make cat food.
