  1. A good strength test is to tie a snell on one hook, with about 30cm of line, tie a hook to the eye with you're normal knot (uni in my case) Hook 1 hook to an immovable object, and the other to a broomstick, or anything else easy to hold that the hook can go around, and pull till one breaks. I'll bet the snell go's first every time
  2. Snells aren't very strong knots in my experience! If I need my hook snelled (which is only when I use 2 hooks) the first hook, I tie a uni knot, then another on a short length, then I snell the line going to second hook with seperate, thinner piece of line to the shank of the first. I don't find them necessary though anyway. Good for livies for second hook leeder to stay close to the bait, but for dead baits, or cut baits... I just see it as a hindrance! You can't thread you're bait on, if you get a fish with teeth, it's more likely to damage you're knot and bust you off, and I can't complai
  3. If I ever get around to making it, my bags are going to have 1 way window for putting fish in, no zips or Velcro . Completely waterproof, best insulating material on earth, flat ice pack, plastic bag holder inside fish compartment, tackle section (completely water proof) leeder dispenser, measurer on the bag, camouflaged material, bait pouch, rod holder for re rigging. Fully machine washable I've lost plent good yellowfin myself that have jumped strait back out my bag, and there aren't any on the market that can handle even half a day of high 30 degree heat before you're fish start cooking.
  4. You will probably end up broke with all the cheap gear they got... Most of the gear I've seen on eBay for twice the price
  5. Seen them on there for a lot cheaper too
  6. Plenty other gear too! Swivels, owner trebbles.... Octopus jigs, metals, plastics...." Alixpress "
  7. Cheap tackle and rods... Takes a while to arrive though, and you Goda sort through some crap. But some real bargains!!
  8. Saw a fishing show ages ago with guys catching good size kings in the canals, either from the power station or near on big hardboddies in knee-waist deep water. Always wanted to go try one day, not sure if it's still publicly accessible though.... Not sure what time of the year either, but they were making it look easy!!
  9. Apologies then mate 😉 that's interesting! It's exactly like the ones we get in South Africa apart from the yellow mouth. We get all 3 species as well (mulloway, Jews and terraglin) but our terraglin are called "Geelbek" which is Afrikaans for "yellow mouth " as its one of the few ways of differentiating Jews and terraglin.... Maybe the ones here are like a cross between? Interesting
  10. Wow!! Wouldn't wana go swimming there!
  11. Yeah, not sure y they so secretive on the stats?? Goda fill out an info request?? I would have thought they would sell a few more if the stats were easier to find for potential customers... Maybe they don't want their compeditors to know what they're up against 😕
  12. I'm working on my own to patent at the moment would love to comment, but it's seceret ATM will be a little expensive to make, but by far superior to everything else on the market
  13. Haven't worked out how to send links yet 😐 some bargains there though!
  14. I haven't tried circles long enough to comment, find it realy hard baiting up worms with them, and just can't get used to not striking the traditional way... But if kelvin uses them, I'd say they're difinately worth a shot.
  15. Gamakatsu octopus size 6. Definitely my favourite hooks! I use them for yellowfin, carp, bream, schoolies.... A lot of the time the fish hook themselves too when my rod is in the holder. I never use long shanks! Miss way too many bites!! They're only good when puffers and jackets are around.
  16. I'll have to give that a try! Thanks
  17. Y don't they just use electrodes???
