  1. I was actually just thinkin that and think you might be right mate, may need two or use a bucket.. 1 would do for few hours but doubt it'd last all night. hmm, would be easier lugging the pool but risk puncturing it..catch 22
  2. just found this on ebay, should do the job. thanks again guys!http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rapala-Battery-Powered-Aerator-RARAERTR-C-Runs-on-2-C-cell-batteries-not-incl-/261049804078?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3cc7c7e52e
  3. I could just run it off my wheelchair but then I'd be stuck there, which isn't a bad thing I guess lmao
  4. wow thanks for the quick reply guys! softy, yeh I've done that in the past, pain in the but getting the bucket back up the jetty though. If all else fails we'll just do that but I was watching Niel from adventure bound catching bft off the rocks and saw him using a pool which gave me the idea, RIP. cheers CH, will get one just for day trips! the pool will be for all nighters U4L, thats exactly what im after, where'd you get yours if you mind me asking? Thanks all!
  5. Hey guys, me and a mate have planned a 3 night stay at Wallaroo to hopefully land my first legal red off the jetty. :woohoo: I've bought a small inflatable kiddy pool to keep livies in for the overnight sessions but just had a thought, "how long will they stay alive?", and is there any way to keep them alive longer? obviously a fish tank pump and large airstone would be ideal, but can you get battery powered pumps of some sort? any help would be much appreciated as i dont really use live baits often. cheers!
  6. lmao, gonna be hard to top that post, hilarious mate! :clap:reminds me of the time in port lincoln me and my nephew caught a bucket of tommies for bait and put them in the laundry then forgot all about it til 3 days later of 35+ degree days. will never forget that smell :sick:Best crab bait I ever used though! stuck the mush in a stocking and it worked a treat
  7. Never fished west lakes but im guessing because its so close to houses and some idiots have ruined it for everyone else by leaving their crap behind, and even kids possibly picking up hooks sinkers etc and eating them.. you'd be amazed at some of the shit I've seen on jetties over the years, used condoms is one that comes to mind lol
  8. your a legend, thanks heaps mate just found TT Headhunters at BCF, 1/12 in 4, and 1/16 in 6.
  9. Well said Ranger, and so true about watching the older locals on jettties, it can help alot! most are quite willing to give you some tips, but theres also the few that think they own the place and are just rude and arrogant (brighton is one jetty in particular), had one guy even move his bucket so people couldnt see what hes catching! I'd be more than happy to show off my one measly whiting lol
  10. theres a small tackle store near pooraka in Cavan called Dorsal Fin, off diagonal rd, always have amazingly fresh pilchards! cheap too
  11. Hey mate can you be more specific, there are heaps of jetties in sa lol..Wallaroo jetty is best for crabs.. lots of crabs at ardrossan too but have found them to be smaller and not so much meat.. Also get snapper at the gates further up.. squid, KGW, gar, snook and, YFW in the shallows are common catches.. When the squid are around yin numbers you might see some kingies around
  12. yep I believe this is the 3rd year in a row now lol..their reports are usually rubbish anyway
  13. I'll be at brighton jetty tomorrow arvo trying out my new gan craft jigs lol, be sure to wave as you drift by!
  14. should still be plenty around brighton
  15. I get all my gear online from various places due to it being easier as im in a wheelchair, but when im up yorkes or lincoln I always support the local tackle stores..my wallet pays for it though lol, but as others have said its worth it as their more than welcome to help get you onto some fish! sometimes if I need something in a hurry I'll bug mum to go see the guys at tackle world salisbury lol
  16. awesome creatures! makes me sick to my stomach they want to cull them! they've been here way way before us and if you paddle out on a surfboard in THEIR territory its your own bloody fault if they take a chunk out of you! from their point of view you look like a seal.. yet another half arsed decision by the australian government
  17. never understood why their called dog sharks lol.. they are Pt Jacksons as I know themhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Jackson_sharknice video mate
  18. wow dont think I've ever seen the jetty so empty!
  19. totally agree Ranger, lets hope it does help.Looks like Brighton and Grange are going to get even more hammered now though :pinch:
  20. lol love it! :clap:I understand its to pump sand to other nearby beaches so they dont have to manually move it with trucks etc.. Im not 100% sure though.. I cant see the benefit to be honest and in the long run will probably do more harm than good..
  21. I couldn't believe what I was reading when I saw this! yet another stupid decision by the government..and no public consultation, If I lived in Glenelg I'd seriously consider moving because of this. What gets me though, is looking at that photo its pretty obvious there was more than enough room to run the pipes under the jetty! :blink:I feel ashamed to admit it but I think Adelaide Living Beaches is one of my department's projects..Im going to do some digging round on Monday
