  1. C'mon you guys, is that it? Thought this was gonna outdo the Marine Parks for controversy, apparantly not.Finatic
  2. AB who, is that the same company that used to make quality, surf proof overhead reels? In fact the most popular ever overhead reels. RIP ABWHO.Garbage.Remember, I don't just sell 'em, I've got to face up to the disappointed client with a broken down reel.Finatic
  3. See anything like these, buy up while you can get 'em.Finatic [file name=IdklKipE__clicks_2.0 size=49776]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/IdklKipE__clicks_2.0[/file] [file name=4a4HKtOB__clicks_3.0 size=47661]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/4a4HKtOB__clicks_3.0[/file] [file name=YwNLJD37__yoshikawa_2.0 size=65792]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/YwNLJD37__yoshikawa_2.0[/file] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/hHN9pjel__red_head_dont_leave_home_without_one.jpg[/img]
  4. Typically when you see a jag for $20 it will work. It will swim right, it will be neutral in the water, it will have quality hooks & tow point & it will entice a strike when the squid are touchy. A cheapy will do none of the above & only dumb luck will see them work.Doesn't have to be Yozuri as there are many quality jags available now, but if it isnt $20 or close, doubt its reliability.Finatic
  5. Good job Srick, even at that size they have big hearts. Who did you go out with, that canopy & clear looks familiar. Finatic
  6. Used 'em all, they all do the job. Biggest difference is the bling factor, Harley Davidson / Massey Ferguson type Penn from USA with stainless gears or Bling bling Honda / Yamaha type from Japan with precision cut alloy gears. Personal preference really.Cost similar, weight similar, drag performance both good. For me, Saltiga, who needs a km of line anyway.Finatic
  7. Just reading Weavers comments on ABT post making reference to wedding plans coming before fishing the ABT.Reminds me of a decision I made a few years back.Missus & I hopped on a plane, flew to Vanuatu, got hitched, got hammered, did a twilight cruise & came back told everybody.Mum was not happy. We then celebrated over a Cocktail Party at Waterfall Gully Restaurant with all our friends & family.Your thoughts, hitch at home or Alope.Finatic
  8. Be cafeful what you are buying here, it is not flurocarbon line, only coated with fluorcarbon, the real McCoy is YGK Nitlon & yes we have it. Finatic
  9. Welcome to the Global Financial crisis, a perfect example of the price rises currently being passed on to retailers & consumers alike.Mid year '08 we were selling Dogfights for $1000, now $1200 in fact the cheapest Australian site I've found is $1550. Most tackle, rods, reels, etc has already increased by some 20 - 40% since August. Not to speak for all, but as I see it most stores are not increasing prices until such time as stock is replaced so if you should see a range of rods for example & 1 or 2 are considerably more than the others, expect that they have been replaced recently.T
  10. Have them instore anybody wishing to look. Beware though, they were Japanese built not so long back, these were the ones Al Bevan & Hal were using. Now Jarvis Walker distribute them they moved the manufacturing of them & are chinese built, similar story to Spinfisher & Slammer etc etc.Finatic
  11. 7.7kg for me, no offence intendedFinatic

  13. A life lesson, "Never try to Bullsh-t a Bullsh-tter".Finatic
  14. I wonder if next time I google "undersized fish" this post will feature.I guess at this stage only 2 ID's will show on the radar. While we are at it, lets endorse the use of chicken carcases for crab bait too.Enough said.Finatic
  15. Thanks Ranger & yes we have it, we in fact import it direct from YGK in Japan. This is why you will not see it anywhere other than Tackleworld, also the reason it is about 1/3 of the cost it would otherwise be.Finatic
  16. Red devil you have a very strong pointif you had some random guy in your house would you just let them be? i think not.I have the answer to this, it is about 27mm long, 9mm in diameter, reaches speeds up to 950 feet per second & I dare say would leave a nasty tingle after being activated. Sad part is, ya can't use it to shoot a Piggy Piggy anymore, even if ya wanna eat it.And Ranger I'm with you, I totally agree the councils shrugged their responsibilites to keep jetties junk free & in doing so made it an ongoing drama for us.Finatic
  17. David, as posted on another forum, stop into 1 of the site sponsor stores & have them show you the diffences, it won't take long to work out quality over garbage.Finatic
  18. Ranger, you just hit the nail on the head. Attracting sharks with chicken carcases was always a crock o'. Several local councils put immense pressure on fisheries to outlaw its use for hygiene & litter reasons & nothing more, the media took it to where it is now.Quite seriously, if local councils had inspectors monitoring their jetties, like they do carparking, the issue would not exist. Of course to do this would not make them money but in fact be a cost prohibitive burden, alas, they made it a fishery problem. My point, at the time this was hot at SARFAC, was, how many sharks have you
  19. Have not heard that, but then we're all mushrooms. Should suggest 300 will come into effect shortly, based on how the Cod closure was handled that could be as of tommorrow. Finatic
  20. & prior to the locks being installed along the Murray, what happened back then?Sheltered Breamin', Sharks galore in 3 feet of water, Jewies to boot, bring it on.Finatic
  21. I agree, lets all do what we can to preserve this wonderfulspecies, but lets still be able to catch 'em.See more info under Freshwater.Finatic
  22. Can't believe it has taken so long to start this thread.Have been several times to Fremantle & offshore at Port Lincoln, caught many Sambos, most 20ish kilos. More recently, last week infact, landed a fish of an estimated 38 kilos, just over 1.5m, was a cracker, sad part was it was only an average fish on this trip, many were upper 40's & all were males leaving the larger females still to be caught. Bring on next year. Finatic http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/Dxs2f2AI__Kym_dec_08_sambo.jpg[/img]
