Last summer i caught one a bit larger than that off grange jetty estimating it at a wing span of 190 to 200 cms took 5 blokes to lift with a drop gaf but never managed to get it over the rail and it fell off the gaf and my 80lb trace snapped due to getting caught on the rope. when i was looking over the rail at it the head on this thing was so wide and deep and the wings were covering half the end of the jetty if not more i was soo shocked that i managed to get this thing in it took and hour and 20 mins to pull in on 50 lb braid. It had multiple runs the first being over 300 meters and short 1
  17. Its definitely a jade perch as kelvin said it is used in aquaponics and is also a species that can be kept in aquaria somehow it has made its way into this waterway and been living and feeding eventually it would die and as it is more than likely the only one or one of a few in the system it wouldnt be able to sustain a population due to the conditions in south australia not being favourable for reproduction.

For seven gills and bronzies this is not a good idea at all the only way you would be able to keep these kinds of fish u would be looking at a rough guesstimate of a price of around 70 thou which in other words means u need a large pool with a complex filtration system or a small scale sydney aquarium. Not to mention the space needed as well as the price of upkeep and time it will take up. The only shark species i see u succesfully keeping in an aquarium of any sort of size stature are sharks like epaulettes and cat sharks and smaller species of carpet sharks and then again u would need to spe

I usually fish from 9 at night onwards sometimes later regardless of the tides using frozen tommies, freshly caught sprat tommies, baby squid, squid flaps, squid heads anything fishy or squiddy really that i can get my hands on but ive caught most of mine on whole and half tommies. You have to be prepared to pull in many dog sharks aswell and sea lice can get annoying sometimes but they arent always arounf, when crabs are about be sure to use squid heads or squid flaps heaped on a hook. I use two 9/0 cir
