Guest horses4courses
only caught them landbased from the breakwater "100 years ago"
squidla 0
yeah ive heard a few stories about the snapper of the breakwater
Damien Dray 0
i dont have much luck with snapper but if you sound around the channel and mark up sum good ground or fish anchor up (outside the channel markers) and get a burly trail going sit back and wait. eventually somthing should swim past. goodluck
smokeykebab 175
all those rocks :pinch: i've made the trek several times and never caught a single snapper there. heard stories though but never seen proof. plenty of other easier accessible land based snapper locations. just berley hard and use fresh baits and you'll have a better shot then the breakwater. grego 0
I've seen an 8 kg snapper landed from the rocks bout half way along near the old landing. I think it was a landing. I believe there is fish caught there regularly in the right conditions.
piratepom 3,197
yeah ive heard a few stories about the snapper of the breakwaterGet out there and have a go mate' date=' make your own stories. :woohoo: Travel light if you're going to the end, avoid the seals, try a few different techniques and if you can't find any Snaps try a few different targets. I used to walk out there a few times a year and had a few ripper sessions and a few not so hot This pic' is from the rocks about 2 thirds of the way out.[img']http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/2986/img4907g.jpg[/img]Good luck. captn9 0
a lot of seals at the end of rocks, try 1/2 or 2/3, some undersize ones, few legal ones if u lucky. worth to try, at least it will be a good exercise
Snappa110 1
That recently was it??
ekul 0
Plenty to be caught at the right place right time, hsv88 proved you can get big fish last year in the upper parts of the port river, why wouldnt they be along the rocks? A friend going back 4 years ago caught a 9kg snapper off the observation platform.good luck
nickmav 0
Try glenelg jetty on high tide tomorrow or the day after once this wind drops, you'd be in with a good chance. Del
