  6. I don't know the full in's and out's of cameras but you'd want to consider a camera with a CMOS sensor these work better in low light conditions compared to a camera with a CCD sensor. Also a camera with a wider aperture should help low light photos as the wider the aperture the more light the lense takes in.I'm not going to suggest a brand as there are quite a few good cameras out there but here's a site I found that compares cameras pro's and con's when you narrow down your search, good for seeing the difference between Camera A and B www.snapsort.com
  7. Just thought I'd let people know that a bunch of us entered a competition on Facebook to win sponsorship / be a product tester from WildBait - hand made lures.More fishos entered than were expected so a smaller package was organised and given out to more who entered. A few of us from Strike and Hook won.Congratulations to Uhf and Jewie who were 2 of the 3 SA winners, the other being myself. I must have made up a pretty good story to score the lures I can't wait to put the lures to the test, perhaps they will help me land a decent trout to show off in the North Vs South trout thread. Thanks to
  8. Nostimini sounds good, I'll have to try that out.Lately I've been dusting with flour mixed with sea salt and a dash of cayenne pepper then straight into a shallow fry. Simple and has just a little pep.
  9. Phones do pull off some good pics these days.
  10. Nice shots TT. I wouldn't mind getting a DSLR to take some more controlled shots. Here's a point n shoot shot with the GoPro at Porties.
  11. That is some crazy footage :)I didn't think a trout would sit still in front of the camera like that.Very well done
  12. Very nice reddies there Jimbo, well done!I'll have to have a freshy crack down south soon.
  13. Great shot mate, always nice down there.
  14. Waterboy's caught a few over the years. Here's a pic of one he caught back in January. Apparently his smallest blue devil.
  15. I know I personally use that Technique especially for unweighted Bream baits next to structure Pontoons etc.A Bait Running technique I use though. Is to back the Drag right off the Reel so there is no resistance and then as the Fish takes the Bait. Lock up Drag and set the Hook. Hope this helps cheers TTWould definitely use this technique over leaving the bail arm open.As the fish swims off you will hear the drag and then it is just a matter of turning it up to fighting drag strength. Then you don't have to clamp the bail down with line racing away at a million milesGotta admit, I'd be doing it
  16. Some people leave their bail arm open then when they get a bite flick the bail arm closed then strike and wind. That might give you a bit of a bait runner effect. Heard people using that technique for Bream though not on Mully's could work though.
  17. Might not be so difficult after all. Just tossing up between opening it up and voiding my warranty
  18. I believe that's called a "Metal Bzzzz Tag" I'll have a look later see what I can find, I did take the spool off and it all looked ok. The reel still has it's Bzzzz when using the normal front drag.
  19. Agreed a bzzzzz that has no bzzzzz is wrong just plain wrong! Was thinking service.
  20. Howdy, I've had my Baitrunner for about a year and a bit I think now with it only really getting a workout for the past months or so and have found that when clicked into baitrunner mode there is now no ratchet clicking sound coming from the reel, still works fine just no clicking.Thought I'd see if anyone might know why this might be happening, I try to look after it as best I can, cleaning after every use, I try not to dunk in salt water or get sand all over it.Not sure if I should go the service by a "Shimano approved service centre" or to try a warranty claim or just live with it.Any ideas
  21. Cheers guys, I try to remain calm at all times even if on the way home I reminisced and let out a few girly giggles :lol:I know it was a bit of luck for me on the day but a lot of Big Red and Uhf's knowledge that got me my first red monsters. Without those guys I would have caught ziltch! Thanks again fellas.
