  1. I have always used lure clips and have caught plenty of mullies bream and the likes with them. I generally use Decoy egg snaps in 0 size but have been using Hosaku quick clips. They are pretty much the same as Mustard fastac clips.... Quick and easy to use...
  2. Daiwa are doing a massive clearout getting ready for this Seasons AFTA show to release the new daiwa products that are getting put onto the market. Generally now is a good time to pick up specials as they change item lines every 3 months to keep things fresh and updated
  3. That bloke brought in those 2 salmon for weigh in...thinking they weighed a kilo each... both weighed under 600grams.... Still good little scrapers thats for sure....

  7. Got this the other weekend.... 87cm Landbased off the beach 1-3kg rod, 1003 daiwa luvias reel, 4lb braid 4lb leader....... Lost a genuine 1m plus model a few casts before :( was devastated!
  8. if only you were down south mate.... Could of both Brought them in and i would of sorted them out for you.... The re tipping is easy. just gotta grab the right size tip.... The rod with a bit more taken off will require a bit of shuffling around, but still an easy fix.... just going to have a different action on it... if i'm ever down your way i'll let you know
  9. I had an Shimano Stradic 1000 Ci4 with 4lb Sunline and an 1-3 livefibre blades and tails and have caught 3kg salmon, 48cm bream, mullies up to 95cm it was my go to setup for everything until Shimano stuffed the reel up. Now I run an Daiwa 2013 Luvias 1003 with 4lb braid on the Livefibre rod. Hoping it gets used a fair bit this summer!
  10. Make sure you get down there and buy a snag on bread or two from two Fellow members that will be running the BBQ on the day.... Great cause and am proud to be a repeat sponsor of this event.... Seen alot of the giveaways and prize packs and they are pretty impressive if i do say so myself
  11. Nice one mate! Gotta catch up with ya soon
  12. 2nd that. I personally saw this rod in the flesh when i purchased the Daiwa fuego off HB_tragic. Is a mint condition rods that for sure.. If not have you looked at the 13 range of rods? The 13 inception Green is a great budget rod and is around 130 buxs. Certainly worth a look.
  13. I actually can't wait for the life to pop into the coorong aswell mate. I have the boss who lives on mundoo channel with a boat. And my other work mate has a tinny that i can use anytime. Bring on the mullies!
  14. It would cost you an arm and a leg to become a member now and that dam is long gone unfortunately
  15. If Your interested mate we have the full range in store at work.... They certainly seem like a good bit of kit and well priced to. Tell us how much? Was playing with a saltist nero the other day and they seemed all right. Had a bad experience with a cheaper daiwa so have been reluctant to go back. 2000 starts at $189.95 to the 8000 at $249.95. Thats the general price Australia wide at the moment.
  16. If Your interested mate we have the full range in store at work.... They certainly seem like a good bit of kit and well priced to.
  17. They are available in a couple of tackle stores as we speak. 😃😃😃
  18. And by this you will be spending a fair amount of time out my way That and alot down yorkes mate... Found some nice Honey holes in my travels.... Just itching for this good weather and fish to play ball
  19. So with the awesome time of year coming up (Spring and Summer months) What are people looking at targeting? What are you hoping to achieve? Here is my list. Not in any particular order.... Yellowfin Whiting on fly Yellowfin whiting on Popper over 35cm Yellowfin whiting on plastic Flathead on fly Flathead over 60cm Yellowtail Kingy Landbased over 90cm Legal Mully. With more time on my hands now and my passion back for fishing i should hopefully be able to achieve this and put alot of hours in.... So lets hear your plans!
  20. Nice report mate. Good to see some decent reports coming through on Strikehook.
  21. What !!!!.........someone found him and is reselling him ? Knew I should have put a "if found" message Mr Reliable looks like a Kamashark lure that's lost its top coat of paint. Great little lures, I love mine and the price is right, unfortunately they're getting hard to source. Last time I was at FW I bought most of what they had left. The pink/orange one is my favourite. I reckon that is the one. I'll need to see if FW have any (driving past tomorrow), if not, I'll pay you double what you paid for them - less used discount, less old stock discount, less S&H member discoun
  22. The 'weapon' was proudly sold to me by Southie whilst I was at the Fishing Wholesalers new opening weekend - he knows his stuff !! And honestly I am very happy with the purchase. Glad you like it mate. Always happy to help anyone out... if i sold people crap and not suited for them then we wouldn't have customers come through. Comments like that make me enjoy my job even more. Well done mate great report!
  23. Going by what i have seen they have tried to fit all the features of the Penn Reels into one reel. Time will tell whether or not I will purchase one. I'm sure I will get a chance to use one. It's not until you actually get a feel and use one you can get a good idea if it is going to be up to the other standards of Saltwater spinning reels of the Daiwa and Shimano etc. It will definitely be interesting to see if Alan Hawk will do a review on this reel or not.
  24. Having A slammer 3 already in our store i have had a play and a good look at it... To be honest im rather surprised they have named the reel slammer 3. The original slammer is one of our biggest sellers as a budget heavy duty reel. And now to name this reel and be out of that budget price range now it doesnt sit right with me.
