same thing happened to my son shane and his mate jason at lake bonney today.There was a bit of thunderstorm activity but not a lot.Jason lifted his rod about to cast and it crackle loudly and he recieved a shock.He picked it up and got ashock 2 more times.Shane lifted his rod and the same thing happened ,only he dropped his rod in the water and it seemed to discharge it.Then he put it back on the rod rest and the weirdest thing happened his mono lifted out of the water and curved up to the sky and there was no breeze.I was lucky but i was always under the impression if you were in an electrica

chicken pellets are the go about 17dollars for a sackful just throw handfuls around the area you are going to fishonce the fish start feeding keep them interested with a bitmore every now and then.cheers rod

statesquidder thats not fibreglass but a substanceused before called bakerlite very strong but can chip easy to patch with epoxy resin though that model is great if you have to winch fish up any heightsbecause of the direct wind and there is no drag to slip.cheers rod

clean it up and it will work as good as new looks like a woodenspool either western redwood or cedar i have a fibreglass spool7inch pushing 40yrs old now and still works fine.cheers rod

my largest harlequin fish my son shane holds the state record about 4 and a half kilos only catch and release from now on as they are not that common and too unusual to killcheers rod

seen nearly all of rexs series and i know what he preaches but a lot of the time he is winding with the right hand on eggbeaters and all of the time on overheads for me it is what you feel comfortable with cheers rod
