  1. Should try fibreglass cutting compound first.
  2. Tuff Tackle Diablo (Hornet) reel can be purchased on ebay for as low as $120.it comes in 4-5 different names.
  3. I wouldn’t worry too much about fishing there..The desal plant will kill everything off for a couple K’s .
  4. Try this in your back yard.Fit the reel into the rod and leave the line on the spool. Now do some casts at varying speeds and see if it flicks over on you.Try to work out if you did something for the bail wire to close on you. It’s possible it could be the reel creating the problem,i had the 4000 and it never did it once to me.
  5. A friend of mine fishes off that jetty via invite and always goes home with a good feed,i had a few invites and passed on it.Anyway if it's opened up to the public and it will be cleaned up in no time.Plus no fish for me if i get another invite.
  6. The same applies to those silly enough to wear waders in a boat.Fall over the side and the waders act as a floatation device, your head points to the sea bed and your feet point to the sky.Very hard situation to try and get out off.
  7. I did forget to mention using electrical tape.By winding on some tape at each end of the reel seat and see if that makes it tighter for you.The other way is to put a narrow strip of bicycle tube under the reel foot.
  8. I was going to buy one but heard a few things about them so i purchased a copy for $100 instead, from the same factory. What i did was just tighten it hard and that’s all i did, seems to be alright now for most reels fitted.
  9. fountain valley @ happy valley has carp
  10. Just look at every day things that go on..Speeding over the limitunregistered vehicleIntoxicated driverUnlicensed driverTaking over daily limit fishTaking under sized fishIt happens everyday everywhere
  11. “Seal Bay” full length waders which come from the Horne factory selling as low as $65 incl delivery
  12. Some people over the years have claimed it’s here. But not at the car park that so many people think it is.
  13. About 25/30 years ago when that road went in called Perry road. When we said we are going to Perry's bend ,question was “where’s that”.Before google maps or GPS we used the street directory and we said..If you look at the map you’ll see a road called Perry road, now follow that straight across as a straight line and you will see a bend in the river it’s pointed at.That’s Perry’s Bend.If others have moved the location then fair enough.
  14. SHARKBAIT...You can get some larger fish at Perry’s Bend as the water is deeper and mulloway like it there.Plus it has some good tidal movement.
  15. Unfortunately just missed the episode by a few minutes would have like to see it,did a search looking for a re play but couldn’t find one.Was a bit surprised to see where the rods are placed in those pictures for Goolwa.
  16. I know this wonders away from your original question..But another choice..Might pay to consider a spinfisher V in that 3000 size as they have water resistant seals fitted. Most surf casters end up dunking there reels when least expected and the V’s will have less issues to worry about going under.

  18. Having the 4120 i always feel confident with that rod so this is why i'm having a look at a bigger heavier rod,but i would like to throw 4-5oz plus bait.It would be for a spinning reel.
  19. Would like to know which model are you using for the surf.Info like length, cast weight and max line rating.Looking at 12ft plus length for heavy fishing. e.g Mulloway ,shark.Kinda leaning towards 13’6’” rod for better casting distance.
  20. Best mulloway catches are on dodge tides.
