  1. Evil looking guy. Some sort of Gurnard?
  2. I normally fish once or twice a week. I'm lucky that my work takes me all over the state, so i get to fish many places. Like Riverland, Yorks, Whyalla, Mid North, etc.I have been known to fish up to 5 days a week.
  3. I'm not going this year. But Monday to Wednesday looks good.If i was going I'd go Tuesday night.Good luck to all that go out.
  4. Mind you it was VERY foggy down south on Saturday!!
  5. Great fish mate.Well done on the PB Brownie.I'll have to get down there to try and finally score a Brown for myself.
  6. Should have stayed D1, they went crazy after you left!
  7. My son and i had a ball this morning. Basically a fish a cast for most of the time we were there.Had a few huge schools busting up right in front of us.We took home 20 small ones and 1 41cm fish. Would have easily released many times what we took home.
  8. My son and i will also be a St Kilda in the morning. Meeting my mate and his mate there. Come say howdy.
  9. You just have to look at what fish eat, to know they feel no pain. Could you imagine eating another fish, with all the spines, or a blue swimmer crab? If fish felt pain, there would be no way they could eat such food.
  10. I still see a few people doing the 'windmill'Ballooning is easier.
  11. north ones i guess mate??Correct Southie. My 2 fav northern dams. Was there today for only one callop.
  12. Go the Rotas. I'm fishing a couple of SAFWAA dams on Sunday. Hopefully i can better my PB reddie.Good luck to all that get out.
  13. Great shots as usual rocknev.I was actually thinking that you'd be out shooting away last night while i was catching snapper off the rocks. I was watching it roll in while on the stones.Definitely was a great storm, with hail and all. Love it.
  14. Start wrapping them up from the tag end and hook the hooks in the foam. Stays nice and neat.
  15. I just use a piece of high density foam, and wrap them around it. Works for me.Great idea though.
  16. I too would love an expensive slr camera. I have to admit that my pics were taken on a cheap fujifilm digital camera. Not more than 8mp.
  17. Actually caught on worms. We threw lures for only a couple of bumps.
  18. Great shots Jimbo.Sure was icey this morning. Son and i headed out for a fish early.Highlight of the morning was watching my son(10) get his PB reddie, 35cm.I'll add a few of shots i took a few years ago. One of the fence shots was shown of Channel Tens Extreme Weather photos.
  19. Grab the salmon under the gills from above and pull the head back until it breaks. Best way to kill and bleed the fish for eating. If you are going to use for bait just dong it on the head, do not bleed.
  20. Love your work mate. Well done on the firsts, and on your own flies!!!
  21. Flows have dropped quite a bit and will continue to drop. You'll be fine.
  22. Any small HB would work fine. Try brown trout and rainbow trout patterns. Strike pro, SX40's, HRTs.SP worms, yabbies, grubs also work. Also spinners are worth a try.Flick lures upstream, while wading upstream, pulling lures downstream. Trout face up current picking off small fish, etc as they get pushed down. You can get quite close to trout as you are stalking the from behind.Move from pool to pool as they spook easily. A few casts in each pool, then move on.Hope this helps a little.Great fun stalking the trout.
  23. We own a few Sienna 500's. Great LITTLE reel for the price. Smooth drag, and can fit over 100m of 3lb fireline on the spool.
  24. Plenty of nice 40cm+ Salmon Trout at St Kilda. Have to get out near the end early.
  25. Great catch mate. One fatty carp full of eggs.
