  1. Those blades are tiny Tony.Interested to see how they perform.Cheers.Sam
  2. Great little reels the Siennas. I have got a 2500 size. Use it for many species. Whiting, ST, tommies, etc. Even landed a 52cm snapper on it.Been thinking about getting another one.Cheers.Sam.
  3. Brilliant shot mate.Yeah, why aren't you fishing??? Don't fancy being a lightning rod?Cheers.Sam
  4. For my lightning photos, i just set the shutter speed to lowest setting (around 5secs on mine) . And take random shots in the direction of said lightning. Took at least 50 shots (if not more) to get that ONE.Missed so many better shots by milliseconds.Cheers.Sam
  5. Great shot there mate. Here's one i took at Burton. It was shown on channel 10 weather that night.Cheers.Sam
  6. Obviously i'm no expert. But they seemed to come to the surface more up the beach as the tide rose.By the end we were getting them very high up on the beach.
  7. Nice blue tint to it.Looking over Whyalla Marina.Great photos.Cheers.Sam
  8. Headed to Goolwa Beach this morning for my first try at the cockle shuffle. Took the kids (student free day) for a play on the sand and help me gather some cockles. Got there a bit later than i wanted to, tide was starting to come in. Ended up with exactly 300. Not too bad for a first attempt. The kids had a ball and i got to stock up the bait freezer with yet again more bait. All in all a great day out, and i'm sure i gained some brownie points.Cheers.Sam
  9. Fantastic Tailor there Arron.What a capture!Cheers.Sam
  10. I was thinking around 1500m, after i responded. What ever it is, it's plenty i'm sure. Only a big white would be able to take all of it.
  11. Weedy whiting on a soft plastic. Seal on a live tommie. Sea horse while blood worming in the Port.Boat, while fishing for gar off Emu Bay Jetty. Idiot came way too close. So many.

Had one run on her but no hook up over the years. Sharks must know they'd never have a chance to get away. Hardly comes out of the cupboard, just too big.
  13. TLD 50 spooled with 50lb mono.Penn Senator 14/0 spooled with 80lb mono on a classic Les Butterworth full rollered rod. Bring it out occasionally for a laugh. And to see the look on some people's faces when they see the size of the winch. Bring on the . Mind you, a caught and released a 7-8ft hammerhead on my little Pflueger Contender G15.
  14. There are a few known colonies that have established in SA. One is up the Torrens. Commonly kept as pets and released into the wild by irresponsible owners. They can grow quite large too, up to 80-90cm. I wonder what sort of impact they have on the native animals.Cheers.Sam.
  15. That's a big doggy. I got one off Wallaroo Jetty a little while back that went 16lb. Seem to be in plague proportions at Grange. One night i would have caught 25 doggies in a couple of hours of Grange Jetty. Was filling in time while waiting for a run on the shark line.Cheers.Sam
  16. Yeah, don't salt them. They'll explode. Just dry them a bit with paper towel. Dip them in metho for 20-30 sec. Lay out on newspaper to dry a bit. Bag them and freeze. When it comes to using them, pop a folded bit of paper towel in the bag to soak up any moisture.Well done on getting some worms. I got around 600 last month land based. Was going to go out Thursday night, but might be too last by the sounds of it.CheersSam :f
  17. I use twin snelled hooks when rigging up live squid. One hook goes in the top of the hood, and the other (bottom) hook goes right where the flap meets the body near the head. Don't puncture any internal organs and they will stay alive for hours. Similar with the fish. Bottom hook goes behind the head and the other at the tail end. Just keep above the spine(lateral line) as not to paralyze the fish. Good luck. What ya targeting???Sam
  18. Crazy video. Just loved it, i watched it a few times too. They go boonta. Wouldn't want it landing in the boat though. Cheers.
  19. Was going to hit St Kilda breakwall this morning, but the cold and lack of sleep got the better of me. So i decided to sleep in instead. Sam
  20. Heading to Wallaroo again early next week. Where abouts the mullet being caught? Was going to try Wallaroo marina as the jetty has not been producing for me.Cheers.Sam
