  1. LOL with that one, especially the 21 carrot gold one. http://www.carrotstix.com/catalog/e21_carrot_stix_21_carrot_gold.htm
  2. Could be a fuel problem, water in fuel, breather, cracked hose, blocked fuel filter, fuel pump, blocked jet in carby for an example,Or could be a power pack, ignition lead, coil, spark plug breaking down under load, one of the sensors sending the power pack into limp home mode (rev. limiting), dodgy wiring or it could be something completely different.Start with the simple things and keep it simple, as it could be a cheap fix.
  3. Nice work there BoyoIs that one of your snapper drops, as I have found a little more vegetation down there on my drops at 15 mtr drops. The other thing I've found that the older sounders showed a lot more reefer bottom compared with the camera, now that I have a HDS7 sounder, it doesn't exaggerate like the older sounders do. :woohoo: When my camera stuffs up, I'll have to get one of those 360 deg ones, much more user friendly.
  4. Rickster followed me out to the Goannas last Sunday morning and did a great job in the 1.5 mtr plus seas.I also have fished out of Rickster's 530 and found it stable and very well laid out for the fisherman
  5. like 4THA said' date=' now I wet the reel before using. [/quote']Bit off topic here' date=' but why wet the braid beforehand ? Never heard of this b4.I assume this softens it a bit and helps reduce potential backlash problems [/quote']Just something I worked out for myself, While the braid is new, it's OKSpiderwire for an example lost it's coating after 3 outings was backlashing, so I tipped some fresh water on the reel, which then stopped the back lashing straight away. Also what is coming into play is that my hands are getting covered fish slime and blood on them and this gets transferred t
  6. Just reading 4THA reply reminded me of some the problems that I had casting with different braids.I used Berkley Fireline for a few years and had good success until it started backlashing on me from the braid catching on itself on the reel, with age. Then used Spiderwire, big mistake, that started backlashing after 3 outings when the coating wore of. :S Now I use Suffix 832 braid with good results in casting, like 4THA said, now I wet the reel before using. http://www.strikehook.com/forum/35-bait-a-tackle/171911-up-dating-abu7000I use auto trans oil on all the bearings, as I have plenty of that
  7. Long range weather forcasts is what you'll be watching and generally up to 15 knts is great and crossing the gulf shouldn't be problem for you, once it gets up to 25 knts it becomes a slower trip, even in a 23 footer. One of the legal requirements is to have Admiralty charts for these sorts of adventures, study them for reefs, sand bars and any low water areas and plot your journey. Then you need to know were you can anchor in protected water if the wind picks up too much for safe passage, Edithburgh, Marion Bay, behind Haysack Is, Althorpe Is, Pondalowie Bay and Wedge itself. The waters from Ma
  8. "Gut Hook" .... okay! This is telling you that they really enjoyed your bait! ... maybe try something less satisfying to a snapper like half a pilly and they won't scoff it down!   :woohoo: :whistle:No way I'll stick to the fresh slimes, squid and the home made berley
  9. I thought HSV's TCurve was going to break first on the last outing with that sting ray. was it his light one or medium 1 cant remember ??That was the Snapper 5-8 kg overhead, brilliant rod
  10. I thought HSV's TCurve was going to break first on the last outing with that sting ray.
  11. Nope, no pics, they were back in the days when we didn't carry cameras around with us, but the memories are there.
  12. We took our own mini rocket launcher, welded plates on the legs and jammed rocks on them. Then sat back, drank piss and talked about the big reds that we were going to catch of the Lowely Rocks.
  13. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this reel in time, some guys don't like the high ratio.
  14. Just read the entry conditions and no one knows the targeted fish until the night before.3.On Saturday, 14 April 2012 (after 6.00 pm) you will be sent via email your State and Murray Darling Basin target species plus your angler number. You can also log on to the website to download this information.Sounds interesting
  15. Do the organizers dictate what species is caught in each state  So your saying it's carp only from a boat in SA :pinch:
