you Aussie Dave  are one clued up fella and your ability to read between the lines is spot on,ive folowed your posts on this and other forums and you have always called a spade a spade on either side of the political/rec/commercial divide and i don't reckon you have missed a beat in your commentary. Please stay involved or even better get further involved because rec fishing needs people like you.
For all the other seemingly considered opinions above i would just like to add that atm sustainability is only  Pirsa spin and is in no way relative to their policies implemented or sadly the many and varied recreational and commercial target species, added to this i'm not aware of any species in our country that has been fished into oblivion by recreational fishers....same can not be said for the commercials and never will be.
                                 cheers b

    Hi Jay,
I notice that you seem to be very anti SAFA/RecFishCentral, is this because you are happy with the status quo?
I'm assuming as this is a rec fishing site that you are here as a rec fisher, do you believe RecFishSA has and is doing a good job of representing rec fishers?
    Were you happy with RecFishSA's representation in the following issues;
Marine Parks. Blue Swimmer Crab bag limits. Blue Swimmer Crab commercial season opening at the beginning of December just to make sure there was no metro crabs left by Christmas for recs. KGW bag and possession limits. The amount of noise they are currently making RE. cutting the Southern Bluefin Tuna bag in half. I'm interested if you feel RecFishSA represented you strongly enough on the above issues?

A bit about myself, I'm not aligned with SAFA or RecFishCentral, I'm just a passionate Rec Fisher and believe me I hold them to account too (check the dark side), I have no allegiance to SAFA, RecFishCentral or RecFishSA.
I think SAFA and RecFishCentral at least have whats best for rec fishers in mind in what they are doing, I've been scrutinising them for about 18 months now and have not seen them put a foot out of place. I disagree with their assumption that because they did a deal with the Libs the Libs are going to do anything about the peoples resource being privatised and it all being moved to a pro resource, I believe that is against Liberal ideology but they are confident that they have a deal with government so until such time as we have a Rec Fishing Council that fails to make a difference or not I'm reserving my judgement.
RecFishSA, well, they have proven to be unable to represent rec fishers on the above issues, I've talked to Danny Simpson and given him the benefit of the doubt as these could be reflective of previous personnel of RecFishSA and asked him to prove to me that RecFishSA under him is better but the crickets I'm hearing over the SBT issue seems to be giving me the answer.
So we have a situation of no representation under RecFishSA or to try something different. A wise man once said that continuing to do the same thing expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity, are we insane?

dmck asked me the other day if my photos on my last article were straight of the camera and those ones were..
So I thought I would show what can be done with photos that are taken on a camera that has a low picture quality as was my first digital camera that I purchased not long after digital cameras were released in Australia..
Mine was a very cheap little one as that was what I could afford at the time as they were just so expensive just like digital TV's were when they were first released here.. Here's a couple of photos to show what can be done with a little work on them with my Windows photo gallery editor.. I can crop them, sharpen the image, increase or decrease the contrast, two photos were taken back in 2014 and were both taken on a reasonably good Canon Compact Camera but a cheaper one.. The sunrise at Little Musselroe Bay was taken at 4:30 am on my very first digital camera & I have no idea what brand it was, it was very small & cheap but it was handy & what I could afford at the time in 2006 (I think it was) Since then the digital compact cameras have come a long way with much higher megapixels, better lenses, higher opitical zoom ranges and even much easier to use as well. Any way here what can be done to give low quality photos a lift..
Even with my new small Canon compact camera after taking a photo on Auto & if I don't feel the photo looks okay I will edit it.. Manually taken photos I don't have a problem with at all..
    cheers
    Adrian

Before with the cheap digital camera...  4:40 am Sunrise at Little Musselroe Bay, East Coast, Tasmania..

And the same photo after editing.

    Early model A580 Canon Photo

Cropped, contrast don and colour adjusted..

KIDNEY SLAPPER reacted to Meppstas in This little photo book's off to France..
I just made up a 7"x 5" gloss photo book that will be heading off the France in a week or so when I receive it..
Snapfish had 50% of including extra pages so I though I'd make one up for a good friend in France who has helped me out for many years with plenty of quality spinners..
here's a few photos sorry about the quality as I took them of my computer screen but it will give you some idea of it.. I'm sure he'll like it.. & yes he knows I use hard body lures too..
In all there 60 pages in the book and it cost me $25-62 (including the postage) to Tassie.. will cost me around $12-$15 to post it to France..
    cheers

So as some of you know I worked at Fishing Wholesalers for the last 2 and a bit years.
However my last day was on Saturday. I know there are alot of members on here that i have put onto this site that i wasn't able to let know of my resignation as it happened so quick.
So i thank you for being great customers to me.
I am no longer in the fishing industry anymore. I might return to it in a few years time if things go right
However you will now find me in the electrical industry as a storeman in town.
Now to enjoy fishing like i use to without the pressures of the industry
Expect more reports me in the near future!
    The bug is back!

The Easter day trip out with my mate and his Mrs wasn't as successful as I'd dreamed the night before but was a great day to get out on the water.
A quick and easy launch and retrieval at O'Sullies straight to my mates spot X. I swear there aren't any fish there, not sure why he swears by it, perhaps I'm a jinx on the trips we go on.
We caught a few tommies, squid and leatheries for quite a few hours of fishing. Our baits were being destroyed by pickers, I'm guessing the leatheries, there was one pygmy leather jacket that my mate pulled up and the sounder showed heaps of small fish.
Cruising around were some gar but only one hit the deck and was thrown back as it was undersized.
Next time I may be able to convince my mate to try a new spot

Codswallop! They're Fly Agaric not your 'magic mushrooms'. Also common in and around your Pine Mushrooms
Yes they are reported to produce hallucinations but are rather toxic. If you're lucky will result in abdominal cramping, vomiting & diarrhea. Unlucky, permanent liver damage. Are 'edible' with correct preparation, apparently delicious too! https://honest-food.net/eating-santas-shroom/
Stick with the standard Blue Meanies for your 'shroom experiences.

If you're not sure if it's a mushroom or a toadstool then leave it be, one way to check the difference is to scratch the top of it and if it goes yellow then it's a toadstool.. also a lot of toadstools are white underneath as well..
    Here's a few magic mushrooms..
