  3. With the YFW season warming up and people wanting to get bait to chase them figured if we put a list together with stores that sell live worms it would make everyone's life easier. So what tackles stores do you know of that sell them?- Brighton Tackle - Brighton Rd- Sweeney's(Spot On) - Tapleys Hill Rd
  4. Nice find... going to take a while to go thru all of that!
  5. What section of the lake you fishing? I usually fish around the Buffalo, but it has been awhile.

  8. It is just a cheap blade runner knife... not the best quality but pretty flexible and the profile i was looking for. I managed to get it pretty sharp with the normal steel i have and the pissy little stone that come with it... but it can be improved.
  9. Got a new fileting knife today, pull it out of the packet and it wouldn't even cut thru butter. Did my best today to sharpen it with what i have here... got it to a decent edge but it could be a lot better. So what is everyone using or methods to sharpen there knifes?
  10. I am in the market for a new (maybe a couple) of squid jags, after losing my faithful Red/White Yo-Zuri on the weekend almost 4yrs we had be together....But on one of it's final casts off the jetty at Pt Neill it did manage to hit a swollow flying past and kill it... karma maybe? So what are people using these days, so many options out there or do i just go back to the red/white again or spend $20 on a fancy jap jag or just buy the $2 cloth jobbie?
  11. The Catana/Solstace combo ain't bad, i have it in the 9ft with a 4000 reel... and it pings the bigger lures out a mile, dare say it would be a good little combo in the 1-3kg and fairly cheap from BCF or take a look at the Jewel combos.
  12. NEVER had any issues with it, Tho i only run it on this rod....POWER PRO should never be mentioned again!
  13. I have 15lb FINS on my 9ft beach/lure rod and have not had any issues at all.
  14. Just come across this high tech and very sturdy looking piece of garbage.... :silly: Anyone have one of these?http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?event_id=2468&utm_source=cotd&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=sos1_20121206
  15. A couple of days after i originally got my motorbike L's going for my first ride with a couple of mates... I was behind them and notice them tuck there heads in and down... i was oblivious to the swarm of bee's i was about to ride thru... thankfully i somehow managed not to get stung but i had bee's hiding all over my jacket and helmet openings. I wont make that mistake again.
  16. Same Alvey as one of mine... just fill it with line and start fishing....
  17. Use sandwich/zip lock bags... a lot thicker and robust.
  18. Pt Parham from what i have heard...
  19. Hopefully it hasn't been posted yet, but just come across this while checking the news this morning.http://www.news.com.au/national/hundreds-of-dead-fish-wash-up-in-st-peters-billabong/story-fndo4dzn-1226513776881

    Alvey reels

I persisted with my Alvey all last weekend at Salt Creek learning how to use it properly and glad i did, i love it, well apart from some mad welts on my hand from line slap from casting. I need to fix the 650c deep spool i brought on Ebay but rocked up damaged had a crack in the spool.. bit of bog and a lick of paint should see it like new again! And it's an old school alvey so it has the meaty alvey sound... unlike my current "plastic" one.
  22. Another thing you can try is get a length of shade cloth and put it on the sand under the car.. this way if the car does sink into the sand you will still be able to easily drive away.
