  2. A report from Marion bay that went well:http://www.strikehook.com/forum/44-fleurieu-peninsula/245204-tuna-and-kangaroo-islandI obviously know the operator, never fished with him but may be worth a try. I do know that he pulled a donut on a Tuna trip the other week, but not for the lack of trying.I guess what Im saying is you hear good and bad from most.
  3. Il write it up tonite, but this honky is leading the sullies leader board as of 9am this morn
  4. Nice work Carstens, well deserved
  5. be nice if such a comp did become a monthly thing, even if the rewards wheren't as handsome, it still encourages people to post quality. So based on the above, I'm thinking in terms of consistency and not just reports for this month (even tho they've both been good) but more so good contributions and on a regular basis, my nominees are Kelvin and 4thalove.Kelvin is consistently getting great captures, always has pix, always gives a few tips and hints and doesn't get all elite on us (even tho he has every right and many that catch much less do)He fishes a well fished area on a floating match sti
  6. This "patch" you speak off, is it a common mark? What is the beach like between Turton and Corny? Our beach house is right on the sand, be intrested to hear of what the fishing is like in close within casting distance.

yet to purchase anything, but its the first thing I check when I get to work
  8. Left phone in the car :(Spoke to a guy named "Ollie" u there with? I got sick of tying leaders in the dark! Hahaha
  9. Just finished cleaning the entire inside of my car from that same "white dust " u have on ya jumper!! We struggled to find any size ones, still a good adventure tho. Hahahaha.
  10. The Torium would be my choice, could match it to $50 rod if you wanted! It'd be fine.Sure the high end gear is nicer to use, but plenty of fish landed on the lesser. One thing to consider tho, is that a suitable over head won't be very versatile if u want to throw lighter lures/poppers.Maybe a Saragosa spinner would be better unless u want to use the Torium for any high speed work.
  11. wow, seems like Ive made the right choice, Il be using Corny point as a base shortly for a long weekend. Taking the tub and hoping to get out a few times over the period. Launching the 5.3m using my taxi will mean the closest proper ramp is Turton right? Havnt been there for a long time but remember the rat kings visit the jetty? Id love to hear of more areas to try. The mates with me arnt hard core fishoes but all like boating and wetting a line so bread and butter it will be. Nice to get a bag of tingers and some squid, Il leave the garfish for those that know and can fillet them.
  12. Id never heard of the brand, but looks like all the other Generic OEM type China reels on the market.Im sure for the $$$ it will be fine, just be aware and have realistic expectations of it.
  13. Follow the above and all is good. Explained so simply, yet sooooooo many do it wrong!!
  14. Its an intresting read, and his comparison to an Owl makes alot of sense, but if you compare a snapper to say a cat or like I to, a dog, his theory is flawed. Lots of personal opinion when it comes to this, and has to be backed up by catches which by the look of his photos , he has.Would I pay $500? no chance. Also, I like his disclaimer about bag limits etc, he clearly has pix of more than 6 fish over 60cm.Can I assume he fished either sdie of midnight and "douible bagged" after advising PIRSA of his intentions proir?
  15. surely starting your relationship with anglers that have an online presence would be easier to keep in touch with and stay connected. Great initiative by the way

    t shirts

Couldnt it be done that Bjorn set its up with a supplier ( online or walk in) the logos and types of shirts available, then gives out the details to all forum memembers who then use those details to order their shirts direct? Edit: thats assuming he doesnt want to make a profit for his troubles which I consider to be acceptable by the way

  18. Yeah, I agree some what , the first run is good but then its not that special. Foul hooking them makes it more exciting....had a couple go harder than others tho and I reckon 40kg one would go better!I have my 8kg jewel to use next time, just have to put aside 1hr or so , Hahahaha
  19. Well done bloke!!! I know you've been hanging for a chance, sounds like you nailed it!

  21. If I got my zeros right, that's still 30k / block
  22. what about the theory that artificial reefs form a place for the fish to congregate and thus make them "sitting ducks" for us recs and the pro's.Stupid to think there is no truth in my statement, why else do we all want "our own drop".
  23. cant wait to have this discussion on an open forum
