  3. sandy. there are larger metho burners available. check out some out doors shops and camping shops. as metho burners are used in a lot of camp stoves etc. 3hrs does seem a long time. but it would of been heavier work than a few ST fillets. i only bought the small one as i had only intended to smoke smaller fillets.. but... im now starting to get a hankering for smoked stind ray wings.. hmmmmmSofty... next weekend.. Ray fishing.. we gonna keep one!
  4. i did the cooking.. you can do the cleaning shame that rule didint apply to saturday nighst dinner... just finishing up the kicthen mess now!Mines a bit smaller than yours SW, can fit about 30 ST fillets in there at a time. Try the hickory mix. very tastee!!!i gotta try some chicken wings.,. hmmmmm marinated and smoked.. would be interesting. how long did you smoke the chicken/turkey for?
  5. have always found they will take squid cockles tommy fillets or any other flesh.. they aint reaeeeeeeeel fussy.i prefer bait myself.. but will chuck a lure around if there are there. the old style spoon lures such as " Wonder Wobblers" are pretty good bang for buck
  6. hmm softy.. we need to go carp fishing after i finish work i thinks..set a few up for rays and sharks for the evenings too..
  7. im keen to catch a few.. to try for bait.. ill be heading across to coffin bay in a few weeks for 4 days of fishing from my shack over there.would be interesting to see how it compares to squid cockles and tommy ruff as bait.

    BRAID lines

    ended up with a nice blue coloured 20lb braid. now.. to find a reel to match up with it.. and ill be set

  13. hey Joe, yeah im a member, went out on sunday watched young Liam casting, and also a couple of others.. its always been one of those things to try and learn one day.

    BRAID lines

    this will be from a rod used only on my yak, with a good lenght of leader. ive always used mono.. but thats probably due to ease of use and growing up on it.

    one to match up to a 6'6 15kg rod running 20lb braid to be used from a kayak.. im not real flash with overheads.. prefer egg beaters..
  24. a lot of it is illegally taken, which causes a huge drain on the available water coming down the stream..so many unmetered pumps running off the river.
