  1. How much damage has been done? Is it just a small crack or has part of the cork come away from the blank?

  6. There are a few internet sites with them for sale, cant remember which ones though.
  7. I have caught some good ones around west lakes but cant be bothered going through the archives to find the photos. Here is the last one caught in my boat by ben m, out of the port. And I still had to go through 12 pages of photos to find that
  8. As the mud monster (carps ) said go into your local tackle shop or even better one of the sponsor stores, let them know what you are after and how much your willing to spend to get a idea. also while having a play with the reels, ask them if you can try the reel on a t curve, then you can get a real feel of the weight and balance of the combo and then you will know what you will be happy with. As for size I wouldnt go any bigger then 2500, personally I prefer 1000 reels for luring for bream, reddies etc, but in saying that from playing with a few t curves I think a 2000 size would match up n
  9. Gday Mars,I have always been a fan of nitlon after first trying it. It has stayed strong, barely ever fluffed up and never lost much color but I always strip a few metres off after it does start to lose its color. It comes in a yellow or dark blue. Have used both and prefer the yellow for the visibility. Also have used this in 4,6,8, and 15 pound and never had a problem. With saying this I have used a few different braids like fireline, rapala squidgey braid, finns and bass hard. Too me not much compares to it for price and quality. Also the sponsor store Salisbury dive and tackle world stock
  10. Well done young fella! Looks like you have accomplished a fair bit in your short fishing career. Keep it up! :cheer:

  15. Did you clean her up with that pretty pink knife SS ?
  16. Feeling for you today mate, hope you get out amongst the fish just like he probablly would want you too mate.Take care
  17. Why not look at a stradic, they come in 2500, 3000, and 4000 and are around that money. And I believe alot of places are getting rid of the FI model because it has been superseded by the Ci4, but one of the tackle store guys should be able to confirm that
  18. SS,Stradic's in my opinion are one of the shimano reels that have barely ever faulted and are tough as nuts. There a few others that cut the mustard too, but you better off going into one of the sponsor stores and they should look after you anyway. Also from what I have heard the new model starlo stix rods are awesome for there price
  19. Very nice fish snapps, so how big was the second one?? High 40's or 50?? Either way some cracking fish and would of been a great way to test out and christen the new reel.
  20. coight wrote: I never knew you could launch boats in there?? Hmmm

  23. Snappa, finatic is the owner/operator of one of the tackle stores that sponsor this site, Im sure he will be able to fix ya up with a good price
  24. I bought a pack of these the other week, and tried them out in the port, I did not like the action or the way they swam at all, only had a few casts and took it off. I was using it in fairly deep water almost vertically jigging across the bottom, so I may give it a shot in another scenario and see how they go, other than that if I dont find a way I find they work, I wont buy anymore
  25. Yeah have seen them mate, but would rather buy them from a store, like to see the product before buying it. And then I can buy more if i see something else
