  1. Nice rods oz pomy have 1 myself.Fishing from a jetty or some sort of structure I would be using a patanoster rig less tangles I find.80lb leader will be fine no snaps will get through that and should give you enough protection on the pylons
  2. all to true mate, no probson the mono side of things the ol and fathful always does the job and I reckon you snood or snell your hooks to your line yeah
  3. Johnny Rotten wrote: Had to quote that Johnny classic but your right not bad line, another is iron silk very good line.
  4. nev the good old locked blood knot isnt that flash on the braid tends to slip through, give it a burn at home and you'll see for yourself tie it to a swivel hook the swivel onto something a pull, she'll slip no doubt. The uni knot is pretty much all you need for braid quick and easy .
  5. not bad rods sell a few havent had any complaints as yet, not bad value either
  6. the lions let me down once again this year, the crows are back you beauty

  8. Hey oz pomy,I have a shimano tekota 700 have had it for atleast 5 years now not a thing wrong with it, havent heard anything about them crapping themselves after that time and I work in a tackle store so I think I would of heard if that was the case.Your right about the abu not being built in Sweeden anymore and havent been for sometime now, still pretty much the same reel enginered in Sweeden assembled in China like most things these days.Tekota 700 would still be overkill for snapper you could drop down a few sizes to either a 500 or 600 and comfortably fish for reds of any jetty even wally.

  11. Shouldnt if if you tie it on there properly. We always put a peice of masking tape around the spool give the braid something to bite into.
  12. projoe wrote: Sorry just seen this post why would that make a difference weather it was all braid or braid backed up with mono?
