Shouldn't be an issue either way given that power pro is a thick braid!

second that, Switch to FC Rock and double uni and you won't have any more problems
  3. Gov sending a great message, protecting out fragile marine ecosystems by implementing marine parks effectively locking out Aus citizens from fishing thier own waters then invite multinational fish factorys to rape those very same oceans that the gov claims their trying to protect from overfishing :S
  4. Nice winge how does the saying go? 5% of anglers catch %90 of the fish complaining about to many people around, while living in a capital city :cheer: classic!
  5. While studying Aquaculture the lecturers showed us some examples of 'how not to farm fish' the pig pens hanging over the basa cages was an eye opener with all the basa congregating underneith the arse end of the pigs waiting for their next meal :S
  6. At least the larger operators feed their basa pellets, some of the small back yard producers grow their fish on livestock fecies
  7. I thought the same thing after having tackle delivered very quickly at first, then I had a 3 month wait on jigheads and still have gear on back order from last year :S Their website is rarely up to date with stock that they have on the shelves, I find it's best to ring and ask if they have a particular item before ordering online to avoid the long wait! cheers
  8. Finns and power pro are very similar, good strength but thick, best I have used so far is Castaway
  9. Try to get pirsa to understand that in our state :S
  10. I think that stuff is more for boosting the confidence of the fisherman rather than helping catch more may be worth trying on unscented plastics to mask that petrochemical smell? If your going to go to the trouble of dipping lures in tuna oil or rubbing on stink gel you may as well be bait fishing imo
  11. I used to think shimano spin reels where great,, that was until I tried Daiwa , soo much better for the money for low profile baitcasters neither brand have strong drag systems so I use ABU.
  12. Thanks Protactic I have switched the bearing into the new knob tightened up the screw and tried using 0 washers up to 4, 2 washers seem to work best with the least movement and it only allows the knob to spin freely with the screw tight with 2 washers!any more than 2 washers and the screw locks up the knob so it doesen't spin, same result when using no or 1 washer. It's probably something simple i have missed  or maybe their soposed to have a bit of play? seems strange to have such a smooth reel with a clunky handle though.if I could find the original i would put it back on
  13. I over exagerated a bit with the measurement, have got it to 1mm movement after pushing the bushing in further, so a lot better but not quite rite?cheers
  14. A bit of a head scratcher, I'm having a bit of trouble getting the rcs knob to seat properly, first problem was that the screw when tightened stopped the handle from free spinning, i fixed that by removing the thick washer and adding 2 thin ones that come with the knob.So now it spins free with the screw done up tight but there is about 3-4mm of movement (side to side) in the knob? any suggestions from those in the know?I should add it's the new model (blue) to save confusion.cheers
  15. I wasn't so lucky, mine (lighter model revolution) broke winding in a 25gram lure, then it broke again when I hooked a small stick, could not believe how thin the graphite blank was:( elchepo chinese shite imo. not all t-curves are built with quality in mind.cheers
  16. I wouldn't consider a t-curve revolution for those species, waayy too snappy, go with a tournament or anything else
  17. Weaver may be the man to ask
  18. The pelagic extreme rod Racks from premiumfishing.com look to be decent quality? anyone here used one of them?cheers
  19. I have a 5000 stradic fj nice reel but I would swap it for a luvias in a heart beat ;)From memory the 5000 stradics can come with a choice of 2 different handles, the large round knob and the flat handle!
  20. Thanks MrBalls, thats exactly the info I was after! It will be use for callop ocassionally as well, from the info I read off the net the only difference between these reels is line capacity and a few grams difference? please correct me if i'm wrong.
