Pretty sure all the rock walls around the marina are accessible from small carparks about the place........Never heard of a Mully there though to be honest, have heard of big flatties in there
-
Yeah thats fair enough, I'm not a fan of real stiff fishing rods which is why the softer action appealed to me

I have my 950SSM on a shimano Aerowave 12' 6-10kg rod, goes alright and gets a nice bend without being too sloppy!

No need for a boat when land based fishing is like this!

Nice work guys! Kinda defeats the purpose of blocking out the background though if you tell everyone in the first sentence of your report where you got them -
Bahahaha Nice work!

Woulda been fun dragging that back along the causeway!

You haven't experienced metro land based "game" fishing until you've been elbow deep under one of the big black slimey bastards trying to get your wire trace and 10/0's back
-
Most metro beaches are good for a few rays at this time of year, and then the Port running into winter

Came very close to buying one of these combos from my local store as a bit of a thrash rod to kick around in the back of the ute. I was looking at the 1-3kg model but felt great in the hand and didn't look too bad either. Didn't buy it because I didn't like the reel, but the rod looked great

There was reportedly a whole school in the port going back 6 weeks or so ago if I recall........seems to be an annual thing

Have used Bream, with some success. But it takes a fair bit of preparation of a fillet/slab and not really worthwhile in my opinion considering it will basically only end up in a ray (trimming spikes, scaling, cutting).....also very boneyWould rather drop some dollars at the fish factory for decent baits than go out and try and catch and prepare a 30cm bream!

Media release - Metropolitan shark fishing restrictions now permanent
Booma replied to bjorn2fish's topic in Industry News
Great to see that the point about wire and mono traces has been made 100% clear in that media release -
Yep, wasn't even fishing the bottom, damn thing took half a snook under a balloon

There was two seals at Semaphore last time I fished there (couple of weeks ago)Was also one at Grange last time I was there (almost a month ago now)

Fished the jetty at Moonta (a first for me) on Monday night after picking up some car parts in the area.Plenty of tommies around and put together a nice bag of squid over the course of the night. Also hooked a couple of massive doggies which I wasn't able to hoist up onto the jetty (gotta take a crab net to land and unhook them next time)

Interesting that the Redfin doesn't have the big forked stripe half way along its back but all singles (looks alot more like an English or european specimen!)
-
Went out for a Redfin flick this morning, a lot of casts for not many fish, but ended up with 4, biggest going 31cm

I managed to hook one (probably 60-70cm long) off Henley beach a couple of weeks ago while chasing Mullet.Rising tide, about 2-3pm, and took a piece of Slimy Mackerel on a size 10 hook Wasn't trying for them obviously, but did have a fair bit of burley in the water at the time! -
All my big ones have been taken on bait (usually when using very small hooks chasing mullet)......caught a few small ones on plastics, but don't really have the patience for it
-
*Posts about catching a Bream from anonymous location...................Asks for someone elses anonymous location*......wait, what?My PB is 37cm from the Port River.....caught a few that size now but thats the biggest I have managed
