Caught this decent Brown in the hills recently. In the Mid 50's. Went all arabattic on me jumping several times. Released well. Caught on own ruff tied fly.

For winter Gar, you fish the the bottom as you would for Whiting. The rig is a sinker clipped to a swivel at the top of the trace, & a cork at the bottom of the rig where the sinker would be for a paternoster rig. Then 1 or 2 hooks in between & still use gents. When the sinker hits the bottom, the cork will float the bait off the bottom & you get your Gar. 
Gar are normally a bottom weed eating fish hence the green goop that comes out of the backside. They stick around the ocean floor in winter. 

i have never had to sign in again been playing it for years! And yes i am playing the main game, that also plays the SH game too. Every year i just hit my saved link and it takes me to the tipping page fill out my tips done! After the week go to SH Comp and my score is in there!...

The 2022 AFL season will start on Wednesday March 16th.
If you would like to join the Strike Hook Footy tipping for 2022, you will to either join up (free) or sign in.

Hey guys, those who want to get their tips in, now is the time. The season kicks off next Thursday.

I just received an email like someone of you probably have about new login/ etc for the EPSN tipping/comps.
I clicked the red log-in the email - when the page displays click the Red Play Now button which will send you a code to copy/paste.

I think its because they school up so close and are rubbing against each other?? Thats what we have always thought anyway as we have seen them in schools of a 100 and more fish.. if you look at this photo you can see the mark behind the rod..
