Blood worm has been working well recently too . As was mentioned there is a closed bream season at the mo but downriver from south road bridge is ok . And between south rd and the bike path bridge (or old railway bridge) which is downriver has done alright lately . If you want to catch up for a fish just sing out . Well my apologies for not getting to this sooner but we do have a winner for the first Carp comp and it goes to D1_taxi with a 44cm Carp taking out first , second and third place considering it was the ONLY fish submitted ? Well don D1 . Will get out a couple of lures (sx40's) for your troubles and taking the clean sweep . Should i do another comp ?Is it worth while ?

BCF at Noarlunga can suck my left testicle . They dont know s@#$ all about fishing or what they sell and there discount card only gives you discount on what they want you to have discount on which really makes it pointless having a card in the first place . To marketed if you ask me and not that well priced . Anglers choice and fishing wholesalers are pretty good in my opinion . All ways have a good laugh and they always discount on everything with there discount card .

Nearmaps is killer for metro and surrounds but yeah does get a bit blurry further in the country . Google earth can give you more of a detailed country photo but as mentioned it is so old some times that things have changed ?

Was on the Port river yesterday morning chasing the elusive Mulloway . Got to the boat ramp to meet a good mate Jack at 4:30am . Headed out to his spot and arrived to realise my rod was not set up properly , spew . So while the fellas cast out there lines i sat there re rigging my line . Was a bit frustrating but i have learnt in the past that this usually works in my favour . Got my line in and was waiting a bit before Jack pulled his line in to check and in doing so pulled it across my line so when i went to reel in my rig was snagged on the bottom ? Busted my line trying to reel in so had t

I hope so coz i don't think i could get my head around it again hey . It is really about spending time on the water to really figure it out . When i go chasing Mully's i have a fair idea when to get out but i still need to fine tune it after a couple of trips in quick succession . Even then it can take me a few trips out , spending a lot of time in each trip (8-12hrs a trip) before i land a Mully . Dont get me wrong i do get lucky and might have a couple of trips in a row catching fish but it's not easy . Good luck and tight lines and preserver fella .

Also depends on what point of the Port Adelaide tide cycle . If you have got (high) high tide followed with a (high) low tide then it will hold water in over the next (low) high tide till the following (low) low tide . You can also have no tide in the Onk when the (low) high and the (High) high are of similar hights and the (low) low and the (high) low are similar . Also depending on the wind and all sorts of variables which give the Onk a mind of it's own . It's not easy but if you go on the rule of thumb as Reeve has mentioned and dont be surprised and be prepared if it's out an hour or so

Cheers fellas . Never tried for flat head but as you can see it is possible . Seen decent sized whiting in there and caught a couple of little ones . Dont be surprised Ausea . Would rather see an awesome fish like the Mulloway go swimming away nicely , have a lot of respect for them .

Best bet is to go down a few times and figure out the tides in the Onk . They can be , and at times are completely different to what is said at Port Adelaide . It can take a bit of home workto figure out but once you have this is what you can achieve .

I only got less than half the fight on video witch i was spewing about Mr Willy but it was an awesome fight . I had 9lb mono on and a couple of times it was pulling line but i didn't get that unfortunately . Wasn't until it had tired a tad that i could get the camera out ?
