I have a 12 ' one piece synder glass mt144 8w low mount hooked up to a 650c alvey for casting baits into the surf, great rod ( and reel).I think of the TLD more as a trolling reel, only my opinion but would imagine that you could get a synder glass with a higher mount.

From Wildcoast, a refreshing change from other local sites that take themselves way too seriously with over regulation through the fun police.

It would be interesting to see what the attendance figures were over recent times, the BIA website's press gallery recent release about the boat show is dated 2004.It's unfortunate as I used to look forward to going to the show, have bought a lot of gear in the past both fishing and boating accessories as there used to be everything under "one roof".

Unfortunately I've dealt with the BIA before relating to a complaint about shoddy workmanship from one of their members and they did not want to know me. Their attitude was arrogant so going to them to complain about issues with the boat show would be as useful as pissing in the wind.

It's a shame that it's gone in the direction that it has given that the shift to the convention centre, adjacent to water, more central, the organizers could have made it into a great show rather than opting for the "gouge" approach which has alienated a lot of the the smaller shops/displays which made Wayville good in it's variety.We can never compete with the eastern states or the west because of the demographics but as long as the organisers have this greed is good attitude we will never escape the "pissant town" label that has been bestowed (some may say correctly) upon us.

Totally agree, odd how if you want to cut a branch off of a large tree, the council is onto you like a ton of bricks with fines but the government can do as it pleases, just look at the trees they have cut down in the parklands for the tramline to nowhere project.Nothing like double standards.

We tend to catch a few, every time we go out, as far as taste goes IMO I'd give it a miss, very ordinary but some people will tell you that eating carp is great.

Went to it last year, the first time at the convention centre and to say it was a disappointment was a understatement, few displays, boats on display out of reach of the ordinary bloke unless you had just won lotto, high entry cost, refreshments costs (read beer) were a joke.Didn't see any bargins, appeared that all were out to profit, FA fishing stands, the shows at Goolwa are better value so based on this I won't bother.Should have left it at the showgrounds.

I attached a plastic veggie bag( those orange ones) similar to a hessian bag to a stake in the surf. That way if you loose it it cheaper than a cage.

Another tax for Fooley and co, it will probably be introduced sooner than latter as it's a cash cow and the government will want a part of that.I've still got an thin cardboard one but one day it will be plastic and will cost more every year.

The el cheapo waders won't have the boots incorporated into them but separate. The possibility of your boots filling with water and the problems associated with that is high. Get some Horne waders, as said well worth it in the long run
