  1. apparently they cast a mile. I myself wouldnt really go for one, I reckon it would be easy to get sand and salt inside it and therefore cause abrasion to your lines.
  2. I have a rogue tackle bag, fits 5 of those plastic tray things, has a large zipper section at front for all my leader material and a top compartment where I keep all my pre tide rigs in snap lock bags. I find it fits plenty of gear dosent take up to much room and its easy to find what you need in a hurry.cheers ABF

  6. I recently went over to WA to visit a mate. We went to a place about 200km below broome to camp and fish for the night at a small inlet similar size to the onk, caught heaps of threadies and bream when decided to chuck out a whole whiting live bait. after about half an hour it got smashed hard and line started peeling like nothing i have ever witnessed, was defiantly a fish as it was head shaking like mad. What ever it was headed fast towards the oyster beds on the edge of the mangroves I frantically climed the mangroves over oyster beds to try and land this monster. Then the enevitable happen

  9. looks like a cracker rod. good job mate.
  10. Braid has zero stretch and zero memory. so you can feel every bite. I think the fresh water guys tend to use the more dark green sorta colours (correct me if im wrong). The multi colour braids are to give you some idea of the depth of line out ie each colour resembles a different depth.you do need to run a mono or flurocarbon leader from your braid rule of thumb about the length of your rod.About 3 years ago i tried braid on one of my reels loved it so much I spooled all my reels and havnt looked back since. There are a couple of new knots to learn for tying braid but nothing to hard.cheers A
  11. I get plenty of old sinks being in the bathroom kitchen renovation game.
  12. I only ever use mono in the surf , for a.few reasons that its not as sensitive and waves crashing don't trick you in thinking you got a bite lol and the wind factor no wind knots etc as well as its not as susceptible to breaking from anything abrasive
