  1. Innovator, Nitro Vapor 70. Nothing else will come close and your combo will be as light as a feather with serious pulling power.
  2. I use both on occasion, but i definitely prefer Squidgies.I sometimes feel like using Gulp! is cheating, as you get belted even if its sitting on the bottom doing nothing, but that's a whole different argument anyway, and might not bother anyone depending on what there objective for the fishing trip is [ie fishing for food/numbers Vs fishing for C&R/enjoyment only].I also think that Squidgies have a lot better action to them due to them being a more flexible plastic, you also dont get as many that are bent/out of shape straight from the pack.Squidgie 80mm flickbait in pilly would have to b
  3. Lures still work in the dark, ive caught plenty of fish on them to prove that fact. The differance is it becomes less about colour and more about how much vibration from the lures movement is sent out, how much noise from rattles [too much can be a bad thing though] and scents. In saying that though, lures with a bit of flash on them may reflect moon light and gain the interest of inquisitive fish nearby.
  4. not sure mate. i have usually received them with my reels... i have shimanos and daiwas and dont recall whether ot not the daiwas came with them. perhaps speak to the store where the reel was purchased.
  5. Too much line at the top of the spool, sounds like you need to add a spacer washer or two. Should have received some with your reel.
  6. Thanks guys and big thankyou to Compleat Angler! As stated by Dan, very generous.
  7. The idea is to stop damage and failure of split rings with fish thrashing and jumping.Realistically only good for big lures due to weight as fishnuts said, also cost would probly be an issue.
  8. personally i would have to say size 2 singles on an sx40 doesnt sound great...is the target bream? personally i'd stick with trebles for these lures, otherwise size 6 decoy trouting singles may be ok
  9. Best way to do it without pliers is to start taking the treble off, just slip it through a little bit so you have a gap. Then start feeding the single on at the same time that your working the treble off."60% of the time it works every time."
  10. Then spinning rods are for you.
  11. Nice one.Adventure Bound si good stuff. Lee Rayner was definitely the useful half of the original iFish. Much better than that Worsteling bloke and actually provided info rather than trying to be a comic.
  12. Heaps of them in the lagoons and creeks. Easy to spot, most of them are half out nosing around, and the rest are easy enough to polaroid.
  13. Ive tried them, but not caught with them.A better, similar, option would be berkley 2" hawgs rigged lightly.
  14. Try chucking some 100-150mm shallow diving minnows.Your setup should be ideal for this and it'll keep ya interested for hours and let ya cover more ground.
  15. If you knew it held a certain amount of a certain diameter, you should be able to work out how much of any other diameter.
  16. Why not divide it by the actual line diameter then?Written on most spool of line when you buy them.
  17. Sending it back to Daiwa would be a good start, but considering you were attempting home maintenance you may find yourself up for the bill.
  18. Judging by the comments on here, looks to me like hes the best fisherman out. Plenty taking the bait.great piss take videos surely
  19. The 4500B is probly a bit excessive if being used for the onk only. Somethin like a 2500 size would be better suited and depending on the reel could also be used for lure casting a bit easier.
  20. a quick search of the forum reveals allhttp://www.strikehook.com/forum/35-bait-a-tackle/121048-new-store-on-port-road#121266
  21. I agree with Brenton. Its a thin piece of polycarbonate, which if bent over something would snap quite easily.
  22. Flats whiting on fly and a metre+ mully would do me.
