  1. channel ten news just reported a story of a fisherman getting the rough treatment for shark fishing of the normanville jetty, they tried to stop him and he pulled a knife on them
  2. getting a bit sick of the overreaction of some uneducated, fisher bashing, minority groups out there lately
  3. well i'm convinced theres a kingie in westlakes coz he's eaten all the bream!!! thats my excuse anyway and i'm sticking with it!!
  4. mmmmmm sounds serious, you will be sadly missed my friend, can i have your fishing gear??
  5. you kill one shark and another will always take its place, where does it end? kill every shark in the ocean?! just another neejerk reaction to appease the backlash from kill-it-to-fix-it minority mobs again!!
  6. there is a well known colony of eastern water dragons established around the brownhill creek area, all due to irresponsible reptile owners
  7. heaps of crap braid out there! Power Pro is the one i use now because the dudes in the tackle store use it and seems pretty hassle free especially were it counts on the light stuff(4-6lb)class...cheers snake
  8. i use braid for all my lure fishing and mono for bait fishing especially when chasing fish in the surf, nothing worse than a small piece of seaweed producing mega knots in braid on the beach...cheers snake
  9. :c that! i wouldnt pay to fish on a jetty!!! thats what we pay council rates for!!!!
  10. I reckon i will have a better chance landing one from the rocks only problem is it will take longer to find one, if that fails then i will have to tackle those jetty kings
  11. no offense taken, your right, rapid heads is a well known kingie spot but im not too sure whether its a landbased option, isnt rapid head just one big section of cliff edge over 100mtrs high?! pretty sure its boat only access... not quite sure about dismissing places like myponga rocks, second valley, carrackalinga, pretty well any stretch of coastline where rocks meets deep water close to home . kingies are pelagic so their constantly on the move so my theory regarding the best place to start my mission is,no.1-the kingies are definatly out there because people have seen em!! I've seen em!!!
  12. Nice come back fella lol
  13. no worries banga ,you and me will take them on this summer, hopefully it won't take any longer than a couple of weeks,..... no offence banga
  14. think i might concentrate catching one this summer from the"ledge" or Myponga rocks first up
  15. is this a good time of year for kingies over there banga?
  16. Landbased kingfish is going to be my focus from now on,i'm keen to put in the hours and purely focus on catching kingies from the rocks on baits and lures. I will be summoning up the same passion I used on my mulloway fishing all those years ago which took pure dedication, perserverence, heaps of fishing and shitloads of patience and any spare time and money i had to finally catch quality big fish on a regular basis which made it all worthwhile and extremely satisfying. But to get too that point i needed the help and wisdom of successfull mulloway fisherman to kick start my long journey to suc
  17. no need to apoligise jack, we all have our own views and methods which work for us and swear by them even if others disagree or not. As long as the method used, whether it be bridle, behind the head, with or without a stinger or any other method used longevity in live bait survival depends on many different and varied situations. The way baits are handled prior to use, species used whether it be a hardy type fish such as large ST's, large mullet etc. or more fickle fish like gar, smaller juvenile fish(within size limits of course) squid and so on are a factor as well as Careful placement of ho
  18. thats fishing... if the trees aint swaying to left, or the seagulls are flying anti-clockwise, or jupitar isnt lining up with saturn, or its too windy or not windy enough or the good old classic "should have been here yesterday!!" some days the fish just wont play the game no matter what part of the world you fish.... as for me i dont have that problem, unless of course, i forget to pack my lucky fishing hat!!!....cheers snake
  19. salmon aint fussy mate stick with the rig your using and carry spare hooks and sinkers in different sizes to suit the conditions your fishing. but i do suggest you take another rod set up with a lure when salmon fishing, catching salmon on lures is way more fun anyway and for me thats the only way i fish for them nowadays...cheers snake
  20. cracker loves going fishing, he definitly has the patience most fishers lack and will sit at the waters edge after each cast just waiting for the next fish to hit the sand. cracks me up watching him tackle a fish twice his size but those trebles are always a concern for me when he does, hence all the yelling "CRACKER,CRACKER,CRRAACCKER!!!!" haha
  21. got this scottish backpacker onto his first decent aussie fish one too remember for me and him both
  22. nice work fellas, remember fishing that joint and after a couple of hours without a bite soon realised why when a duck swam over and decided to clean itself near where i was casting, this duck was standing in about 2 inches of water!!!... cheers snake
