  1. Personally I just shear mine every 12 months and she's happy I shave her about once a fortnight, i like her to keep it nice and buffed.
  2. Any answer i'm likely to give here will end in my door getting kicked in and raided by some Gov Nazis, so i'll say i'll smoke some killer herbs, drink the very best bourbon i can score and do things to my missus i wouldn't do to a farm animal.
  3. I hadn't planned on going myself, but i have it on good authority that SA Sea rescue will be doing something like half priced memberships as a show special, and as i was thinking of joining anyway, the savings will be well worth it for me.
  4. Excellent, love those rig and knot books, gonna grab the dvd combo. Thanks alot for the heads up.
  5. RIP Pinchy. Now heat up the fry pan, it's what Pinchy woulda wanted...Homer style :pinch:
  6. Cool! Should serve you well. I'm in the process of doing the same myself as some of the jigs i've got need to be complemented with a proper Egi rod. I went nuts and spent a small fortune on some top of the range jigs only to use them on general purpose rods.
  7. Ohhhh crap! More money i don't need to blow....but will.
  8. Did you decide on an Egi outfit yet?
  9. Well went out yesterday with a friend for some squiddly diddly, drifted for about 3 hours and caught some nice ones plus a couple of huge cuttlies.Leather jackets everywhere destroying the tommies on jags and teaser though.
  10. Yeah mate, that's how i do it. I have a few handlines with Tommies and jags, and a couple of rods with jigs. Went out last week and the water was like an aquarium, just so clear and i love watching chase the lures and the tommies too.Every time i saw one i was like "man that buggers huuuuuugggggge!!!!!" but it's just the water magnifying 'em
  11. Yeah, they can be pretty huge out on the Nullarbor, missed a few myself. I came across a fella at the Caiguna truck stop/motel who collected one in a VW SBV van and it pushed in the front left hand corner and destroyed his LH suspension. He reckoned the thing took a few minutes to come too and the just flew off lol.Great pics anyhow.
  12. You're absolutely right 4thalove, the poster didn't ask for our "opinions" on squid fishing but about two Egi rods.To the original poster, take a look at http://www.squidfish.net/. It's a dedicated squid fishing forum, the admin is run by an Aussie, a really nice guy by the name of Glen.Every possible question regarding squid has most likely been covered on that forum and it really is the best resource re squid.Cheers,Just Me.
  13. Couldn't agree more with the two above posts. I still get a big kick outta using a hand line and tommie out on the boat, and basically any light/medium outfit will serve you well.I use to spend heaps on all the new jigs and i've caught just as many on the el cheapo "razor backs" from k-fart or 3 for ten bucks at ray&anns. If you wanna buy a few good jigs i'd recommend the Yo Zuri oiutas, get the one with red heads and pearl white bodies in size 3 or 3.5 and i also really like the Yamashita live.
  14. Great vid, even got his snapper back!
  15. I've been getting some killer meat from a source outta Lobethal, i believe the beasts come outta Woodside (no, not refugees lol), aged for 2-3 weeks and the steaks are absolutely magnificent.I like the fillet steaks, but any good steak turns me on. Medium is my choice, just slightly pink in the middle and like UHF no sauces just salt and pepper, i will also cook some VERY hot chillies on the barbie and eat it with the meat, my GF bought me some steak rubs and seasonings over from Texas and they're damn good!
  16. Killer video! Nice catch.thanks for posting.
