Well I think all schools of pelagic fish move like that. I don't know whether it was just a coincidence or not but usually the schools dart this way and that anyway. Yeah, the camera would look unnatural, but when fish (especially like GTs) school, they grow in confidence and aggressively smash anything.

Do you know what the rod's line class is rated at? Probably needs to be around the 15-24kg mark?In terms of locations for sharking I would say the more popular spots in the metro area are Semaphore, Henley and Grange.

What sort of gear do you have? Before you start fishing you should probably visit a tackle shop and try and organise a strong, heavy- duty combo that will be able to handle sharks off the land.

Yeah you could use the ugly stick as a light- medium snapper/ mully rod I reckon it would be okay. Don't know about rays though, you might need to beef your gear up a bit more for them. They pull hard.

IPhone app called 'Fishing' displays sizes/ bag limits/ fish species names as well as fishing spots near your current location. Have a look for it on the itunes store. It's logo is a white fish on a red background. I have it and I reckon it has been a pretty good find.

In terms of rods, I would probably go for a Daiwa Saltiga G Boat rod. It looks pretty good and is made up of quality components. SAG70MHRS is the rod's code name. It is rated 15-30lb and it is a 7 ft rod with 7 guides so when a big fish tries to lunge underneath the boat, you can manouver it back out into the safety of the landing net. Aesthetically, they look slick and they have the balls to handle pretty large fish like snapps and mullies. And for $100 on m
