Hi all, I've recently been adding to my YouTube channel.  Here's one from an old Video8 tape.  I apologise in advance for the quality as the old player has some issues (in fact it has now stopped working).

I'm sure it will run a little deeper too, the bib angle is close to the Rapala F-3 lure.. how it goes, well only time will tell I suppose.. it may just want to go around in circles..

I have tried it out in the bird bath and the kitchen sink by hand and it did have some action to it, they weren't large enough though,  really need to give it a crack in a river, but that will have to wait until the season opens..

I'm pretty confident it will work..

Adrian , that is a cracking good looking repair...

If anything, I would hazard a guess, that, the repaired lure might run a little deeper, due to the extra angle on the new bib.

Well done, for finding all the little bits to do such a repair.

Good on you Adrian on trying to repair it and now hope it stands up to those fierce trout you catch.

I'm sure it will have different effect in the water with the slightly different angle - who knows, it might prove to be the best lure you have

Some time back during the brown trout season I had three new Daiwa Gekkabijin Yoguri 4F hard body lures of which two were lost to fish taking then into snags under water and the last one
finished up with a broken bib thanks to me... It was during a session while fishing low water that had a lot of cotton like algae in it and it kept fouling the lure. After some forty minutes of fishing and
cleaning the algae from the lure on every retrieve I belted the lure on the water surface to clean it the quick & easy way. Trouble is, by doing that it broke the small bib off the lure  making it useless.
So today I thought I'd have a go at repairing it  myself by making a bib and gluing it in place. Using a hacksaw blade I made a small cut where the bib had broken off flush just in front off the eye and then found a small thin piece of clear plastic which I hand filed to a shape that I thought may work. Didn't think to get one of the new replacement lures out to see  what they looked like which was dumb.. any way made on and glue it into place and it came up reasonably well.. I think it did as I'm yet to test it out and I will do that once the season reopens on 5th August.. here's a photo of the original lure and the one that's been repaired.
The repaired lure has a little more angle to it than the new lure..

    cheers

Seeing it was a cool sunny day and I was feeling a little bored I two my two cameras to Gowrie Park in the hope if may find some fungi to photograph..

Well I did manage to find a few fungi here and there as I wandered through the rain forest in what was very cool, damp conditions just below Mt. Roland. I just love going there as the air always smells fresh as ever..

O'Neils Creek which flows through it had a nice flow to it as well and It was great to sit on a log next ti the fern lined creek for some 15 minutes and take it all in.. very refreshing for the mine, body & sole..

So here's a few of some 50+ photos taken this afternoon... There wasn't a real lot of fungi around today which was a shame.. still got a few good photos I think..

Well I got that totally wrong! Seems they are expanding the factory and need more staff (no mass exodus as suspicious me thought). The post on Boatsales states that Haines Hunter are building a different line of boats which will be offered as "hull only" for the DIY brigade.

Certainly is an ugly fellow. The smaller ones are beautiful fish, especially when properly photographed    !

Agree. I could sit down with a bottle of red. Beat the TV any day.

Excuse me for butting in on your thread but I am hoping to have my first real go at this soft plastic malarkey soon.
I was thinking of using similar to the picture below as I already have them, thoughts? Also being fairly new to braid (and lazy) I generally have a swivel tied to the main line then clip a length of mono paternoster rigged. I thought a length of mono to the clip below and on to the SP would work???
Please don't try and teach me one of those ridiculous knots where you need 3 hands, wrap it round your big toes and need the dexterity of a  contortionist to tie it

thinking about wandering around West Lakes or Snowdens Saturday??

I heard the Daiwa were not producing the Gekkabijin Yoguri lure any more, well the small ones that I use any way which are the 4F models (42mm/ 2gm) floating hard body lures. So I rang Daiwa Australia to confirm it and they said "That's correct, they're being discontinued and they have 15 left in stock. If want them I'd have to be quick and get hold of a Daiwa seller and get them to get them in for me. Well I was quickly on the phone and was lucky enough to get twelve of the Ghost Brown ones that I use from Daiwa.. so i do have some nice trout lures to see me out for a while proving I don't get busted off too often like I did towards the end of the trout season when I lost two in two trips, then broke the bib of the only surviving ghost brown one. Now what's left of them are probably in tackle shops around the country..These were selling from $17-95 to $22-95 each and I picked them up for $11-95 ea which I was very happy with.. also came with free postage too..
    cheers
