carn man, seriously? Its a bloody rare skate he is looking for some info on!!Hardly a target species for the average rec and has no commercial value!!The same tit for tat arguement your pushing could be used in regards to your constant "hard" questions aimed at PIRSA.They answer just about every question that is asked on here , should they also just go away and leave us to our own devices ?One could see the way they are often treated as harrassment!! I know if part of my job description was having to log onto the local fishing forum and deal with the constant bagging and questioning, Id be hitting my boss up for a decent pay rise or just making sure "I didnt get around to it".It no wonder they carefully choose what social media to partake in As for socializing with Ciaca, again, if I disowned anybody that had dealings with someone I didn’t agree with, I’d be couped up at home with my doors barricaded!!I quick suggestion, maybe a bit more time on the water catching fish is the go here? Maybe when online, read/post some hints, post the odd report up?Just a suggestion that’s all, surely all this political jousting takes the fun away from something we are all trying to do “recreationally”?

While there is a very important political side to rec fishing in South Australia let's try to keep this topic on track. At the moment in this thread we look like a bunch of fisherman that don't want to help science even though it may be the contrary. It can be a double edged sword there's no doubt about that and perhaps I'm too naive when it comes to science passing on potentially malleable data to politicians but if we don't help the scientists with accurate data who will?We can discuss the politics in another thread ;)By the way Dr Donnellan is a fisho

Used the snyder 156 with daiwa gs9 for over 20 years now and will tackle anything off the beach. Bulletproof. Don't know if the gs9 still in production but the sealine bull seems comparative match for good price.

Pretty sure byron itself is a sanctuary zone. Brunswick heads just to the north has fishing in the river or on the breakwall at the river bar. A bloke i talked to thee said they get Mulloway off there at times. i think it has a fair bit to do with the flow from the river.

Amazing that DEWNR are prepared to invest years in the introduction of marine parks but do little to nothing reverse the trend in declining condition of reed beds and minor drainage channels throughout the southern area. one only needs to look at the poplar growth at reed beds near Moana, weed infestations along other at Maslins, Pt Willy that outcompete native species and contribute to nutrient increases. If not for community groups, onka council efforts along Christie Creek and some landowners, storm water run off areas would be left for dead reducing the ability of these reed beds to naturally filter runoff. how about some real action on storm water management before wasting precious funding on something that may not help benthic ecology in any way otherwise.

Agree, forget the phillies and catch or buy a couple of kilo of tommy or mullet fillets or whatever cheaper at the fish shop and use it. Ols mate near parnka point has got too dear of late and is aSometimes too smashed to come down the hill.Have to check phillies every 10-15 min otherwise that's when you don't cast them off. Use squid or occy during the daylight hours when the crabs are about. Keep some phillies for back up or burley. Had plenty of time when we've thrown out some frames of sweep or whiting for burley and when caught a gummy they're full of them. Whiting and/or mullet heads are regarded as gun bait in some areas as well and stay on the hook for ages until the lice clean them out.

I have a super stik hot shot rod made by SA Fishing Tackle agencies. it has hand made by Steve Morris written on it. These may be the best port of call to find out details for rod, 255 Grange Road, Findon. Mine was a lucky pick up in cashies for nine bucks, bargain.
