Got a call today from my son who was fishing one of our favourite creeks, they couldn't find one Mully, BUT! there were 15 heads of Mulloway, no bodies just heads, on the bottom that they could see :c who knows how many more where in the deeper water :c i'd really like to know how any marine park or any new rule is going to help fish stocks when the government can't even police the rules they have in place theres always some prick out there that will always kill as many as they can and take what ever they catch by what ever means they like :c NOT HAPPY JAN!

Ive had the 2500 for about 5 years now, fantastic piece of equipment. The 2500 is super light at 200g and a little more versatile than the others if in future you decide to fish a little bit heavier for the natives etc.Mine is used primarily for bream but its comfortably caught schoolies to a metre.

A work colleague has been in the process of importing a boat from the US since October last year, in the second week of March he will finally get his hands on it.Thought I'd pop up this picture he was sent by the agent of it in the container. Its a Brunswick 2052 Trophy Pro Walkaround and only JUST fit in a 40ft container.yes, it had to be put on its side with only about an inch on the sides and top to spare :)he got a good deal from the US and even with the shipping and agent costs ended up costing less than half of what he could buy one here for.

Tread warily, people...This forum would be watched by various parties. One or two more "high media profile" shark C&R efforts in the metro area and there could be a game-changer scenario in terms of fishing regs - I can think of something along the lines of "no intentional targeting of sharks within XXX metres of a jetty or patrolled/designated/popular swimming area", for a start. Assertions of public safety requirements and all that.Heaven forbid an attack or fatality this summer whilst there are a couple of heavy duty rods (and balloons) at a jetty in close proximity...all it would need is a little indirect inferred attribution.Blatant berleying techniques aside...whether for sharks or tommies... And yes, I am about to generate screams. And no, it is not illegal.Yet.Join the dots. A little discretion goes a long way...

I thought most jetties were built as a means for people to get to and from ships in the late 1800's and early 1900's and have more recently become used primarily as fishing and recreation structures

I am glad you look after your gear, I want to look after my grandkids There are several locals who shark-fish off the beach and off the rocks at Carrickalinga using simple rod stands. Their gear seems well protected and they have quite a bit of success.

I live in Normanville and I'm not the one who was on the Jetty. Here's a local perspective. The Jetty is very short and there is hardly any advantage compared to the beach. The Jetty is situated right next to the Lifesaving Club and the zone that is patrolled and used for training every weekend. There has been a lot of shark fishing there in recent weeks with some large catches and bustoffs. One group has been using a kayak to row out the baits and to place berley near them. They have been using fish and fish oil baits and not meat or offal. The issue is the proximity of the shark fishing using oily berleying to the swimming beach and fishing while swimmers are in the water often within 50 metres of the baits. There are plenty of other areas of beach for shark fishing. Locals are very concerned that the patrolled beach area is being placed at risk by fishing. My grandkids swim there and are members of the lifesaving club. I would prefer that all people fishing on the jetty target smaller species and am most concerned when I see heavy berlying and large balloon rigged baits so close to the designated swimming area. The attitudes in the previous posts do little to convince me that many of the shark fishers that visit Normanville have much respect for others who want o use the area for other purposes. I would support by-laws that set a safety perimeter around designated swimming beaches where hark fishing is banned. There are plenty of other places to shark fish from the shore in the area but onky one patrolled beach area.

Moggy23 and myself ventured into sports fishing scene today just to have a chat and a play with some more of there products. After a few small purchases and some rod discussions we were shown this new product range (new to us) called samaki the staff member showed us several rods from the range and i was more than impressed with the feel and look of these rods apart from the camo look eva grips on one of the range but thats personal choice he went on to show us some of the other stock lures etc. which Moggy proceeded to purchase would like to say if any one is in the market for a new performance out fit at a reasonable price i'd pop in and take a look at this quality gear.i will be seriously looking into purchasing a zecton-- phase2 sz-701sl or the C12 range a C-12 sc-6111sl may end up with both  cheers 4THA

I'd skip W/Ls for a start and fish those spots where you normally only have a small opportunity to normally fish because the tide is rippin most of the time,I'd try one of your mully spots near the mangroves or head out deep. cheers brenton

Hi allall the talk at the moment is the success people are having with Vibes. All my lure fishing is with SP's and the odd HB. Wish to have a crack at throwing some of these and need some general advice.Firstly all my lure fishing is at the Onk and Pat, so my general questions are ?1/ general Vibe recomendations ?Most vibes work OK, I like Ecogear VX and ZX and TT Ghost Blade (poly carb) or Switchblade2/ Technique as apposed to what i am used to with SP'sCan be fished very similarly to plastics- change it up: double hops with longish rod lifts then left to settle/pause, quick rips then pause, constant slow or fast roll. get a feel for what the vibe is doing, they all like different retrieve speeds and techniques3/ @ what depth do they best work shallow flats up to a few metres deep- change weight and material to alter sink rate and depth4/ and other other factors that may be of some helpPlay with the tow point location if they have multiple holes as even a few mm difference can drastically change behaviour of vibe. ENJOY!Any help appreciated Regards

Certainly was scotty.Tried a silver lure on the normal rod but there was weed everywhere and the wind dropped out so I had a go at the fly rod (casting as far as I was, if not further, with the spinner rod)and the second cast Bang!Did a couple of tail walks for me too:)Not had a fish pull line out of my hand before. Was quite exhilarating I must say.
