  1. And to think I initially ignored this thread.... Quality posting!
  2. Nice work Reeve!!Spent a couple of hours on the Murray last night - very quiet but very relaxing... A mate got 8 Callop and a nice redfin from where we launched the boat..
  3. Yep, no legal size or bag limit.... I would think you would be able to catch other fish on them too... I would think Bream would be a logical target...
  4. I'm not too sure too many people fish IN the Mundoo Channel - a lot of guys launch there but then fish up around the mouth and down towards Tauwitcherie. You might be a chance down there, but check to see what gates are open on the barrages and if there are more than about 40 at Goolwa its not really worth the effort.Anything less and go for it - Mulloway, mullet, salmon trout plus the occasional redfin, flathead, Bream, etc.
  5. I use Berkley Vanish as well, and find that it helps. Not sure about 9/10 squid you see wont touch a jag AFF - I find maybe only 1/10 won't touch them... Had a session off Brighton almost 2 years ago and we caught a boat limit and the last 30 were sitting in a big school on the bottom - we only saw them cause we drove over them and they were all angry buggers!! Not sure how big the school was but we stopped fishing once we got our 45 and didn't look like the school had got any smaller!
  6. I wouldn't have any issues freezing fish then gutting them and cleaning them when I want to eat them.... You can buy whole squid that have been frozen, or even whole squid that have been thawed.I wouldn't be throwing them out, I'd be eating them.
  7. MM,Wrights Bay is the place to be fishing if you want to get some good fish - there are also some cracking beaches out the back of Robe - there is a beauty out past the dump - the sand is pretty soft though so be careful....
  8. That is a monster of a Silver Perch!! Nice catch! Would've fought well too??
  9. Oops just re read your post and it seems you might be landbased.... Not sure if you would be a chance landbased at Parnka but you never know - should be some locked in fish up there not wanting to swim through the freshwater.... The channel is pretty deep there in front of the boat ramp so you never know if you dropped a live bait in there at night time....
  10. @ Hugo - Parnka Point is just a bit of a channel - it's an access point to the surf beach - the cocklers use it. However I do know a guy who used to fish there by boat many moons ago and used to do well - I have always planned to put the boat in there but its always too windy when I stop there. If you head right and just find some deep holes - its where the pro netters get their mullet.Don't be afraid to try the mouth either - the salt water is under the fresh - fish right on the bottom - use a whiting like rig with the bottom hook below your sinker - and put some sinkers in your berley pot so
  11. Why not I'll be in... Give me an excuse to head out fishing!
  12. I always used to think they were summer only, but getting boat limits the last 3 years in winter has changed my mind, but water clarity is the key!!
  13. Would have to say that Mo Tackle would be my favourite..... And the delivery is oh so quick!! On rods, reels, everything - I've had stuff at my door within 36 hours of placing an order... Not bad from Coffs Harbour...
  14. I would think after the wild weather on the weekend that the tracks would be fairly washed out and a bit hard to access the beach....Become friends on facebook if you are on there with the guys from the roadhouse - under salt creek coorong - they will soon tell you...
  15. Agree jimbojames... I caught my first big Snapper in January this year, and to be honest it didn't feel like it fought all that well.... Was impressive to look at, but it seemed all to easy just going out on a charter at Arno Bay and getting it...AS for my first big Mulloway... we drove 12 hours, spent 3 straight days fishing and finally got one.... And it just ran and ran..... Much more satisfying in my book....
  16. Mulloway for sure..... I think if you want to go and catch a big Snapper its not that hard - may need to travel but book with a decent charter at Whyalla or Arno Bay and they'll more than likely put you onto one...As for Mulloway... the truly big ones take a lot of time, preparation and patience....
  17. Thanks mate... Hopefully the weather this week stirs them up a bit and it settles down next week so that it's perfect fishing conditions for us and the fish are around!! Haven't been there for a couple of years so itching to get back there!!
  18. Very jealous.... Don't get many better catches at Salt Creek than that!!Heading there next weekend, one legal mully would do me!!
  19. Launch at Wirrina.... If you fish around not too far from shore you should get plenty of squid.... Wirrina is just north of Second Valley... Maybe try some baits down from whiting as well....
  20. Only 28kg?? That thing is a monster!!!!!! I would've thought it would've been pushing 35kg!
  21. My score isn't there... I must've forgotten to enter it... ARGH!!!! I got 45400...
  22. Yep have it all sorted out now... For some reason when I tried it when logged into our server the screen to save the score wasn't coming up.... The time would run out and it just freeze....
