  1. I cant believe the GS9 is still around Was a great spinning reel used by the hardcore LB snapper specialists back in my youth & outside my meager budget, but I'm sure there are far better & lighter reels around now for the money.Anyone know the attraction of them now or why in fact they are still available?Same with the BG series, cant be big sellers
  2. "Big shittie on the end of the line LOL"gotta love conditions like that!nice fish shauno on the light stuff

Otherwise they are frought with danger as the fish makes last ditch dives. Also not as useful in the wind or with losts of swell. If you were serious about it I think you need to have the right landing gear as well as the tackle to pull them out.
  5. Esky's and insulated boxes.ice over the top to keep everything in A1 condition. Cold shed floor helps plenty also.Doesnt take long for things to loosen up if the door is left open.Actually, this thread is a bit of a reminder as I need to do my freezers before things heat up too much and it becomes hard to keep things in good condition

  7. Are the gaffs you use drop gaffs or poles? What if you were to make a loop knot / lassoe then attach the head of the loop to the pole with some of that plastic coated garen wire or something firm enough to hold the rope to the pole, but week enough so that when you pull on the rope to tighten it around the tail of the shark it comes away from the pole easily. the beauty of the pole being you have more control over the whole process.
  8. Do you REALLY think this is real? Plausible even? "Swam up his trousers and into his anus" What all this happened in a matter of seconds  and he didnt clinch :S What was he wearing to allow such a thing? Extra baggy parachute pants!Reckon its a concocted story. Look at where its from.......
  9. Fished out of a mercruiser powered stern drive model in some average conditions and loved it!I think the merc is 3.3 litres and rated at 135hp. With 4 of us aboard and our gear it seemed to do well in the slop, but this probably doesnt answer your question.
