    Nippers

yes to metro beaches...which ones... time and effort will find that out. I know they are available from seacliff to aldinga so this shoudl get you off to a flying start !Look for greay patches around 4" round with holes in the middle or patches of holes in close vacinity of each other and pump away. You will need something to pump into othere wise you will lose most of them.there you go.. I had a go...now it's your turn.
  3. Noticed BFC has the nice white soft stuff (silver rope) going out fairly cheap in various lenghts. In 12mm from memory as well.
  4. Hugo for a minute there I thought I was going to be reading about a 75cm trout.... top job for the young fella... Hoping to get my 2 year old into it ASAP !
  5. Charmed mate...charmed !! You been kissing fairies in all the right places or somehting..haha..Congratulations though...very rewwarding to be a person who can positivley influence somehting wel all love. Hope to see you out there one day.
  6. I've commnly known these as Ling here as well. Either way...always get them out at the lumb and to tell you the truth, they are'nt bad eating either:ohmy: Very soft flesh that comes up beautifully in a beer batter but not the easiest fish to fillet due to how soft the flesh is.Any way... Ling...beardie.....Bearded Cod...all same...:silly:
  7. small slivers of squid flaps ( about the size of a gent ).... first thing i go to after gents and it's never let me down !
  8. Good to hear kym, will be in for some when they arrive...sadly back out ther for work tuesday:dry: Darren, I have source mine from Salisbury tackle world for a while now after looking else where.... don't have to look no more and the best thing is you're only around the corner
  9. Not sure about the tracks but for nippers look for the dark round patches of sand ( normally around 4" with a hole in the middle and use a bait pump directly over it. there is a worm that presents almost identically so don't get too frustrated. The bigger worms work well too... don't stay on the hook real well though.
  10. Had my first real crack recently and pulled 11 first up. Sight casting only. I swear black and blue it was the 1.5 hours of getting nippers before that did the trick. They smashed they compared to anything else. Dynabait and freshly pumped beach worms did get a couple but nothing like nippers. They were woofing them in that much most were gut hooked were they were sucking on the worms. Makes sense when you think how they would eat...like they say..think like a fish !!
  11. Got a meeting tomorrow night Banga toherwise I'd be there !! Have a good one anyway mate, hopefully the mullies play the game for ya
  12. I'm kinda surprised the servo's don't clean out the frozen pizzas and pizza rolls for a day... god only knows they wouldn't be selling any with all the food flying around christmas day. With all the spare room they could fit a heap of ice in.The flip side...Dropping a pallet outside = no labour/ maximum profitClearing shelves and man handling ice all day long to re-stock depleting shelves = minimal profit and lost manhours! It's pretty clear why they do what they do. Most places I have ever come accross tell you to grab 2-3 bags if they're half defrosted. Most times I have come out on top !!
  13. Could be wrong, but under the impression that a charters can't double hat as a commercial fishing boat if clients are on board. I have heard that they can hold a commercial licence to fish the seasons etc pro one day, charter the next.. but to take a client out, keep everything and sell their catch..hhhmmmm, smells a bit fishy.
  14. Honestly mate... find it hard to believe. Seen a few fishing dvds filmed around there and they are releasing plenty of kingies....they certainly aren't short a few over there. One of the draw cards to Lord Howe is even being able to hand feed kingies from the protected beach they have so yeah.. bit hard to swollow. Sad if it is true though
  15. It's $60 per annum but currently I believe the Membership officer has it set as $56 till the AGM (July ??) either way... awesome value and massive variety of fish, dams, fishing buddies, experience, tuition (if you ask nicely), equipment....anyway I could keep going but you get the picture !! I've paid more than $1000 per year for golf membership and not got anywhere near the joy as I do from SAFWAAJags(SAFWAA Treasurer)
  16. Nice work guys, Lovin the look of the page now John !!Great vid footage to, must be nice to have a handy crewman on deck

Jake have a good look at the specs mate, you'll find the 2500 has a much larger drag capacity and holds a lot more line( bugger all size difference to ). Can't beat them though, great reels and I know one thing.... I WILL buy them again and again !!!Best test I have out them through was at Browns earlier this year... skull dragged 2kg salmon after salmon and never skipped a beat !! And when I say skull dragged... there was seals chasing the salmon every other fish !
  18. Very nice mate ! would love to see the flies your using out deep, looks like a fair biof weight to them.. come to think of it... might have to get you to switch my reel around.. never did manage to get that bloody clip off.
